Saw Silver EVO in Dallas.
Saw a silver Evo in Dallas parked at a Starbucks on Midway. Still had red tag on the back. Car came from Don Herring Mitsubishi. Looked so good with the wing on it. Wish I could get one.
I've also had the privalege of scoping out a few Evos inside and out. They're definitely some beautiful machines. I thought that I wouldn't be all that impressed when I saw it, but, I was very, very wrong. I haven't been that impressed since I saw the Dodge Viper, and for the same reason I was impressed with the Evo. It signals a new kind of performance vehicle in the States that a WRX simply couldn't.

Give up the WRX vs. Evo comparison already!

's turn.
Jesus, some people don't know how to friggin read.
Dazz, you think you wanna insult me and my car to my face, because I do live around you. I'm not about making threats, but, I'll say this: I don't say things to people on the net that I wouldn't say to their face. I think you might want to pick up that habit, and fast. Since when does my ownership of a N/A Lancer mean I don't know what the **** I'm talking about? Do you think that if I had been able to shell out 32K that it'd mean that I'd be smarter? Think it'd mean that I'd know more about cars? Maybe I'd have a better opinion if I could have opened my checkbook and have bought an Evo. Don't be a jackass.
Now, for clarification, I'm not COMPARING THE EVO TO THE WRX. Nor am I saying that the Evo would be here without the WRX. Let me ask you this... do you think that the WRX as a car, beyond causing the response of some of the Japanese car manufacturers to bring over their sportscars was a car that stunned people? I mean, the styling is iffy (as in some people like it, some don't, but, in any case it's anything but awe-inspiring), and the performance, while good, isn't exactly beyond eyebrow raising (why I wouldn't even begin to compare it to the EVO).
What I mean is that the Evo is a new breed of performance vehicle in that it is an import that has the tuner in mind. It's pretty much done already what most people would do to eek out better performance, better looks, and better driver comfort/input. Sure, there are things you can do to it to make it better, but, it is as close to a complete car while stock than any import in recent memory... well, at least one with a turbo and AWD. Small, powerful, and great handling are the qualities of the next generation performance cars in America, a market where big displacement, two doors, fat tires, and the ability to go fast in a straight line was enough to make you a performance competitor. The Evo signals the beginning of that "revolution" in a way that the WRX could not. I didn't think I'd have to spell that out, but, obviously since some people don't know how to think for themselves, or read inferred information on these ******* forums, I do.
