Hi guys-

It's almost time for the Asian Film Festival of Dallas and while perusing the schedule I noticed they are showing Initial D, the live action film based on the popular drifting manga. Admittedly the main character doesn't drive an Evo but it still could be fun. If you must have an Evo fix I'm told one or two of Evo III and Evo IV vintage make appearances in the movie. Anyway, I thought it might be worth seeing and if anybody else wants to see it we could make it a meet-up. Here's the movie's web page.

It looks like this film did really well in Asia and ended up the highest grossing film of 2005 over there. Let's check it out...

I enjoyed the movie, but it is a little different then the cartoon series.

 

Bump...we'll prob need to get the tickets early as there is only one showing and the movie is pretty popular...

As last resort, we could meet early for dinner and buy an hr. or two early.
By the way, the new NASCAR movie, RICKY BOBBY is out the same night...

I would love to double, but will be tied up till around 9:30 and be heading over to make the showing. Sounds like a great idea for you all though!

I'm still looking into the best ay for everyone to get a ticket as well...

 

I guess it all depends on how many people we have going. If we have a lot (say 8+ or so) we could probably arrange for someone to go ahead of time and get tickets. If there aren't that many people I think we'd be fine just buying them on the day of the show. If anybody (ez, for example) was coming later and was worried about them selling out then I'm sure one of the early arriving people could get tickets for them.

 

I am intrested in seeing the movie(s).

 

I would love to go, but ATX is too far to drive.
