Ntexasevos.org..... NTEC Update????
Indeed, Billy had graciously offered to put us up on his site, and put together a nice mock-up of how that would look. There are some things to keep in mind:
1) Billy has a lot of irons in the fire. That along with his going back to school will limit the amount of time he has to dedicate to putting up an NTEC presence. What he has up looks great, and I especially like the idea of having scrapes of the respective forums available on our home page. (This is something that I'd like to preserve if possible.)
2) The greatest single concern I heard w/r/t having NTEC's website being a portion of a larger site was that we could get lost in the mix. It was decided that we would maintain a top-level presence for our website.
3) Coming out of last weekend's event, we had a tremendous amount of interest, and we wanted to be able to act on it today (or yesterday, as the case might be). While we're running with slightly less functionality on the site than we had previously, we have the ability to update the site now, and will be moving quickly to revise it to suit our purposes.
Anyone who is interested in helping to define what our web presence should be, please feel free to PM me, and I'll include you in further discussions.

Click the big NTEC link. Was suppose to be the new site, but we really never made use of it. At least not yet anyway.

If you guys need help with developing the site, I can throw in a few lines of code if needed. Though, I do not have time to develop a completely new fresh site. LOL

Ah yes! I have not spoken to Trent in sometime now. Does he still have the X? If I move out that way, I will be competing in the West Texas SCCA region. When I was looking at their result history there, I only saw an STS2 class, no STS. The last thing I want to be is up against a bunch of Miatas...LOL
If me and Trent can get enough EVO guys together out that way, maybe even some to start putting their cars out on the track. Anything is possible!
WTEC FTW!

Right now it appears that I am the defacto person tapped for running the website. I'll send you a link to the foundation that I'm building (I used your NTEC 2.0 logo - it's much nicer than the old one)- I'd appreciate any feedback.
(Sorry to refer to you in the third person above, I thought you used a different nic on this board.)

Matthew, I really like the direction that the website is heading. Making it a google app is awesome. The only thing I wanted from the previous site is a "member's rides" section where everybody can make there own page. Is this possible?
The version of Apps I'm using will let us create up-to 200 accounts. We can allow people to create a their rides (and videos and pictures, etc) page. I'm planning on looking through that this weekend in hopes of migrating the site over early next week.
google apps is not a bad idea at all. that also makes things easier. not sure how well u can control the website though. i guess we could try that out and see from there. does it have a forums feature? it would be nice if we could have our own forums for all our discussions and events.
PHPBB would be you best option for forum software considering its free. I can keep the NTEC forum on my site for sure to house the club if needed. I do agree with Matt though, the site should be standalone so it stands out to all members. I already have a forum, so if you guys still need the forum I provided, that is fine. BTW, Matt, I hit you back with a PM on LL.
Matthew will be explaining it on the new page, but until then...
NTEC is not gonna have an 'executive director' , or dues; its being turned back to the masses!! Power-to-the-People!!
