What does it matter if they use that name or another, I thought the point of these meets were 2 get together and look and talk about our passion for the vehicles.

I think the reason it's called Texas dsm shootout. Is because Nikki is the owner of texas-dsm.com so she's just trying to throw a event which she is hosting.

Seriously though. There aren't alot of catchy event names to be had for a Mitsubishi specific event, so it shouldn't surprise you if someone else ends up using the same event name after all of these years.
