Good shops to take the EVO to?
Good shops to take the EVO to?
Are there any tuners or shops in Dallas the know what they are doing with EVOs? For example: COBB tuning use to be here and they did an excellent job with Subarus. Is there an equivalent source for Mitsubishis?
Is there an AWD dyno around here? If I do happen to modify my car I'd like to be able to go to a dyno to see if it actually helped.
What about just general parts shops that specialize in after market performance? Is there anyplace in DFW that would have in stock an after market air intake for the EVO?

Hey tweek was that you in the white evo on 3040 the other day?
If so I was wondering why my Evo didn't come with females?
there were alot of people in that car.
I've tried all of those shops and I'd have to say we have a very nice selection and picking between one is very hard.
Evo8.com is my favorite because they make it almost a hands on experience getting your car worked on. They didn't seem to mind my millions of questions and explained thier work as they completed it. If not to get any work done I suggest just going up there to hang out and see if you like it. My only complaint is no dyno.
Fis is where I get most of my work done and Steve will go out of his way to help out. This is another shop that doesn't mind you sticking around and learning a bit while they work. Another thing nice about Fis is they don't hesitate to pick up a phone and ask questions if they don't understand something. Thats reassuring because I've seen others just try to look good and guess.
Wasabi is more like going to the dealership. I think they could have a really good thing there if they got rid of that set-up. They will rarely even let you go on the shop floor and if you do somebody "escorts" you out there. Very impersonal if you ask me. I had a lancershop clutch line installed there as a test to see if I liked them. My clutchline failed about a month later due to a faulty install and I got the dealership to fix it for me. I will say if you want any stereo work though they are top notch and some of the best I've seen.
Alamo I went to for a safc tune with race gas. I had an appointment and they somehow let someone else on the dyno so I had to wait a little over an hour (damn neon). They did what did what was promised and made me some hp on race gas, but overall I wasn't impressed with the customer service.
Sorry this was so long but I hope my experiences will help some. If you have some bolt-on stuff I live in Flower Mound, you would be welcome to come over and use my garage. I can't afford any new parts as of now so it would be fun to put someone else's on. Kyle1134 is a friend/member here and would be willing to help as well. Let me know, John

I live at west end of 3040 (Flower Mound Rd), but I have a silver EVO. One of the reasons I chose the EVO was that I can get the entire family in w/o trouble. The girls love it because it goes around corners like a bat out of hell (even keeping the revs under 4K).
The shop recommendations are great and I really apperciate the reviews. After I get 1000 miles on the clock and the first oil change done I will go use one of the dynos to get a base line. Then I will look in to modifications, probably a Vishnu XEDE first.
My primary goal in buying this car was to get in to autocross and some road racing. The social scene that comes along with the car is cool too.
