Dyno's in Dallas

hey just wondering is there any other dyno in dallas other than Alamo?

Cajun Power Aug 7, 2006 08:27 PM

Yes, there is one in Mckinney I think...

Alamo was VERY VERY dirty and it is a dynojet. {thumbdwn}

Dyno4mance in Atlanta is a dyno dynamics and it is an awesome shop. {thumbup}

Houston has Engine Logics with a dyno dynamics and it is an awesome shop too. {thumbup}

I loved both dyno4mance and engine logics. 2 great shops. Well worth the drive. Nothing in Dallas compairs to these shops.

IMHO :beer:

oo sweet thanks...

do you know anything about Austin also? .... i heard their might be one in Austin?

EvoBZ Aug 8, 2006 12:12 AM

As far as AWD dynos go, there are one or two other options here in DFW. Two that I know of:

1) Autoscope, which has a dynapak (people have different views on these).

2) Kingpin, which is getting an AWD mustang dyno installed soon (Give them a call, their shop seemed rather nice, but I am not sure they have the dyno yet).

AWJunkies Aug 8, 2006 07:39 AM

Yeah Kingpin will be getting there dyno any time now. I know it has been issue after issue for delays. It really looks like it is coming now for sure.

Try MZM International in Austin. They have an AWD Mustang and they know whats up. They do all of the work to my car. 512-837-6200

and it is a dynojet.
and dirty ????????
i dislike Alamo too but a dynojet is the best thing out there!!
dirty dosent make them work bad, it just shows the work from alamo... DIRTY

Rcebowl Aug 8, 2006 06:11 PM

hey DFWsilver? or anyone esle for that matter?? have you dyno'd on Alamo's Dynojet? ... where your tq numbers weridly low?

Rcebowl Aug 8, 2006 06:46 PM

everytime i've been there *twice* ... i've had werid dyno results...

my mods the 1st time..
Injen Intake
HKS 272 I,E
Invida TBE
De-cat'd
255 Walbro
Dyno Reflash
Hallman
Megan Racing Exhaust Manfiold
ARP Headstuds
Exedy Twin Disk
HKS camgears (0,0)

and a unknown boost leak***

numbers were ... 320awhp and 300 ft of tq @ 74degrees .... which from what i can tell is WAY too long for my mods ... Tq at least i figured this was related to a boost leak ... and after testing found it was true....

2nd trip to Alamo
same mods as above
however i have EVERYTHING t-bolted.
HorsePower Freaks LICP
and a Greddy RS bov recrc

my numbers were 319awhp and 298tq ... @ 104 degress... from what i can tell there's no reason why my tq numbers are low unless that's just normal for their dyno...???

ez Aug 8, 2006 08:04 PM

I baselined my previous Evo at Alamo last year...numbers looked fine.

I help build that dyno, and so far with three cars I’ve owned before my evo, I have put over 700 runs on that same dyno.(at least) The settings need to be corrected before using the dyno.
the dyno works right if the user is using it right!

Blue03Evo Aug 12, 2006 02:32 PM

I have heard bad and good about alamo but i have had them do most of my work and i have yet to have a problem. Everyman his own i guess.

Cajun Power Aug 13, 2006 08:07 AM

Nothing wrong with the shop if you are going and let them do all the work. We had a dyno day scheduled and had like 12 cars to do. Their setup with the lift to get on the dyno and non-flow thru ventilation made thing rough twards the end of the day.

I will always go to Engine logics or dyno4mance.

BlownIncome Aug 14, 2006 06:26 PM

Alamo has done a lot of work on my car(s) both past and present. Yeah, I have had to go back to them a couple of times because of something not being right but they have always been quick to fix any problem that they may have caused (nothing to serious). They haven't blown up my motor like another big name tuner on here has that everybody still uses. {thumbdwn}

Rcebowl Aug 14, 2006 11:23 PM

oo i wasnt talking about them as a shop or as tuners... i was just wondering about their dyno
