94 Octane Gas In Houston?
 

Anybody know of any gas stations in the Houston area that sell 94 octane (or better)? I have been searching but have not found any...

There is a pump at a station around the corner from my house that claims to be 93.5, but I'm not even sure if its accurate. I have never seen 94. I know some places offer 100+ race gas though. Head down to pasadena, and tap into a tank down there at a refinery. Im sure you will get some good stuff :)

There must be some place in Houston to get 94 octane. I have searched for Sunoco stations but I couldn't find any...

Have yet to see any 94's in Houston and think that TIUS' "93.5" Octane is just a myth :p

I will say this, in California they ***** about getting only 91 Octane, well in North Texas the highest you can get is 90 Octane. On my trip up to Colorado (91 only) I was quite ticked that all I could find was 90. Seems the further north you go the lower the octane in Texas. We stayed in Sweetwater (west of Abilene) and all they had was 91. From at least Lubbock up to the tip it's all 90.

I wonder what the elevation is like up there. "High octane" gas at higher elevations is 91 or 89. I think in Vail the highest I could find was 89. Granted that's also at about 9000 ft. ;)

Guess I really did not think about the elevation having that much of an effect on the octane, but you could be right. I don't think Lubbock and Amarillo are that much higher to warrant the 90 oct. though.

P.S. Amarillo is 3,676ft.
