Evo X's at MSR

When I did the Apex event last month out at MSR there was another EvoX. Here are some of the joint shots that the photog took of us when we were around each other on the track.

He didn't get pictures of the other X passing me (fuel starvation after two left handers) or my glorious ride through the dirt!

And one showing that I likely was a little too anxious to pass on this particular corner :D

ETA: just found this pic of the other X scaring that same guy in the MS6:

Dude that's what 3-4 hours away? Not really something I'm that interested in :)

I agree. It's really nice to see when someone goes out, buys a brand new Evo, then puts it on the track and autocrosses it (on a regular basis) as soon as the initial break-in period is done. Not to say that anyone else's purpose for buying the car is wrong. I just appreciate the fact that the years of design, development, and manufacturer sponsored competition that have gone in to making the car what it is today, are not being forgotten.

While I have yet to track mine, I have every intention of doing so just as soon as time and money allow. Until then, I have really enjoyed autocrossing it and I will continue to do so. Driving this car at its limits is a rather rewarding and addictive experience.

This car was meant to be driven -- and drive it I do! I've already put about 7K miles on it since I bough it just a few months ago and I only live like 15 miles from work.

Well, i tend to agree
especially w/MSR available to us all, but

I have a fun back roads route
that we could do on Friday PM
run on Saturday
play on some Hill Country twisties on Sunday AM
return on Sunday PM (or Mon AM [still getting 1/2 day wk. on Mon.])
{noface}

Now you're talkin... and there are a lot of *great* hill country roads that you can take back up to DFW. Start with Route 12, which is only a few miles from the track.
And it's a good thing for the development of your track skills to drive multiple tracks. The perspective will make a major difference.

You two must not be married or have kids... getting 6-10 hours to do an AutoX or track day is about as much as I can either a) request or b) want to spend away from my family.

If I was single again I would be all over it :)

Anything else I can tell you about the event? We'd sure like to have some serious Evo drivers down here... and this track is custom-made for Evos (lots of fast turns and elevations: AWD rules!).
