red_evo8? gentlyharsh? Anyone Else?? they're getting a new alignment at CobbTuning today  |
yep they are using it as a tune up for next weekend in Houston.
|
Texas A&M is also having an autox in conjunction with Spokes.org or I would have attended.
|
Today is the day. Get on out there before 9AM and get signed up!!!
Or, just come on by to check things out and watch the action. Pennington Field in Bedford. |
Congrats to goofygrin for getting 20th place in the rapide pax and winning $5 cash! I got 24th place in PAX which is alright but.. clearly not as good.
Too bad no other Evos came out to play. Maybe next time? |
Results are up.
http://www.autocross.com/er/equipera...ndex.php?id=60 I'm only 1 second behind the banana beast. :D Evo Someday, you were 0.378 behind me in R. 35.371 vs. 33.984 raw time. I wonder how much running in the 1st heat hurt me. The cars that were 1, 2, 3 in rapide pax at the start of the second heat ended 13, 17, 20. |

In the PAX runs - because I was pushing harder - I was a mere 0.577 off Milstead and just 0.221 seconds off of Atkins (raw times). Compare that to last year when I was around 2 seconds behind the Hondas on a 38 second course. So I feel like I'm getting better. Maybe soon I can actually beat one of them. Clearly you're getting better too. Being just 1 second off the rocket powered Z06 is pretty darn good. By the way, I think the rear sway is really going to help you. It should, if all goes well, induce a bit of oversteer which means you'll be able to put more throttle in during the turn without plowing out like we do now. Also, there is no doubt that those running in the afternoon had the "warm tire" advantage. The morning heat drivers were clearly all over the place. But even in the afternoon I never got my tires above slightly warm to the touch. |
I had the A6's up to 40PSI on my last two runs. I think that I've been cording them because I was running too LITTLE air pressure in them. I talked to Gerry and we looked at the setup instructions and I should have 40+PSI in them at all times (cold then maintain that as the day goes on). I've been running 34-36 PSI.
I can't wait til next month when we get to slide around the bus lot :) That's gonna be fun! |
Sorry we couldn't make it out. Mini-battery on the Evo was dead Sat AM. I used most of Saturday to learn the Braille would no longer take a charge, find a replacement Odyssey 680, and modify the mount/cable length so the larger battery would fit. By the time I completed the new alignment at COBB Tuning and got back home, it was 7:30pm. I hadn't done any of my "around the house" projects from being gone in California for the past 10 days, so they were on the list for Sunday. Making peace by doing Sunday yard work makes it possible to go to Houston for 3 days this weekend. :) Our testing will be done on Friday at Greyhound Park.

4/19/2009 at the TMS with the SCCA. Then the following Saturday - 4/25/2009 - also at the TMS with the NTAXS followed by another ER event the very next day at Pennington.[/DISREGARD] See post below for the more accurate information. In anycase, I highly recommend the TMS event. That is a fun surface. |
