Hey all EVO-GA members and such......... This Saturday Feb 19,IHATEPORSCHE and myself are going on a mountain run in Dahlonega. The "course" is about roughly 40 miles.We will run up US60 to the stonepile,up to Woody Gap,past the reservoir to Suches,then down hwy 180 toUS129toNellsgap,downtoHesterGap,thenTurners Corner, And back to the stonepile.If you have never driven up here,you are in for a TOTAL treat.Especially hwy 180.A narrow 2 lane that had in mind when they built our beloved Evolution.Switchbacks that drop 15 feet,its pretty cool.Bring your camera,the views are great.Depending on response, start time is tbd.We will either meet at Home Depot in Dawsonville,orat theendof400inDahlonega,probably the Chevron station.If you are interested,sound off so I can make a list.-Gold City EVO

 

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the pace will be on the brisk side, but not to the point of being stupid.Bleed your brakes,pump up your tires,we're going to use our cars the way they were meant to be driven.

I suppose we could start up the mountain about 1 ish......... give anyone who wants to come a chance to get up here...........

 

I might be able to make that. My wife just got a Mini Cooper S and she has wanted to take it to the mountains. Maybe we’ll bring both. If we do come we will likely be tail-end-charlie on this one. We’ll let you go fast guys lead the way. I’ll let you know.

I just remembered, but i won't be able to make it. I'm going to be in Tampa on Friday for a Motley Crue concert . Saturday will most likely be spent
recovering from a hang over on my friends couch

Have you firmed up a start location and time? It looks like we will be bringing both the Mini and the Evo. Would it be possible for you to draw up a map in case we get separated? The Mini isn't through the break in period yet, so I can't imagine my wife will be able to keep up with you guys. I will have to hang close to her. It might also be nice to have a dedicated rendezvous point in case we you guy have to wait for us, maybe somewhere near ½ way.

Ok heres the scoop............... Lets meet in Dawsonville at the Home Depot.Theres less chance of attracting the Sheriff. Its right onGA400 about 1/4 mile from hwy 53.Next to Chick-Fil-A. On your right.Lets say 1 pm,so everyone has time to sober up.I will try to print maps ,but the detail may not be so good .I will hand write in landmarks.We will stop several times to take in the views,so dont worry about getting lost. Also I will coach everyone between stages.As far as rain, I just got new Sumitomo HTRZ II , which is a super rain tire,so we aint skeered.Chances are it will just be misty if anything.I think thats everything.
