What' happening all? Just want to put this out there. What is the best intercooler (Besides Stock) that fits the stock front bumper? Besides the intercooler, will I need new piping and such? Just curious as I caught some road debris and it dinged the IC pretty bad. I will be checking the piping this weekend, but I may just change the intercooler. Thanks in advance, and if you want, send me the info IM.

I've been going crazy and haven't been to a track in 6 months. Oh well.

Thanks all,

Chris

Hey Chris, call Marco from Billet Design, he's makes custom EVO Intercoolers and piping and the price is cheaper than whats offered out there. 954-975-3557.

Will his stuff work with the stock front Bumper? What kind of gains can I expect from a larger intercooler. I know the concept of an IC, so don't flame me, but I want real world input.

Thanks all,

Will an aftermarket intercooler kick you all the way up into SM?

I think it will knock him out of A-stock but not STU. He might be able to run STU... I'll check my SCCA manual later.

Definately out of AS, but if I recall correctly, STU is just a street tire equivalent of Street Prepared. I can't remember if you're allowed to do intercooler and charge pipe modifications in ESP. If you're not legal for your respective Street Prep. class, then you're not legal for STU.

Thanks all,
Have not done the intercooler yet but my understanding is that you can get between 15 - 30 HP from a better intercooler. Don't know how accurate that is but if you do swap out the intercooler try to get a Bar and Plate design instead of the Tube and Fin. They are supposed to be more durable and are able to cool better. Buschur racing supposedly has a really good one that fits in the stock location. Never seen the Billet design one but Doc Evo swears by their work.

Morning All,

I'm might take a look at a stock intercooler here, as I know alot of people are upgrading and just put the old one away or sell it. I'll also check out the other info that you guys have sent.

Thanks,

Chris
