Import showdown topspeed rules again

I won AWD/RWD class. Pretty fun. Somehow the final race for the win ended up being between the fastest car (of the top 8 racers) and the slowest car. So i had an easy time at the end racing a 13 sec dsm with my 10 sec evo. There were over 180 cars there racing. It was amazing to see after qualifying runs that of the 8 cars, probly 6 of them were evos with topspeed stickers on them. It was the same situation for the other classes. Including a fastest event time of 9.9 from a topspeed tuned supra. Doug was runnin from car to car helping everyone out logging and tuning between runs.

There is always a discussion on here about "who to tune my car". I thought about that yesterday when i was standing around the topspeed tent as the elimination races were taking place. I was noticing how most of the people in the finals of the various classes were all standing here with me. That just says something about a tuner. Ya know, long parts lists, huge turbos, stoker motors, even big dyno numbers all leave the most important question un-answered. Its the question we all ask and the answer we all seek..."how fast is it". If you see thread like "my evo made 900 whp", you will find people asking "what does it run at the track?". So then does it make sense for anyone to take their car to a tuner that doesnt race at the track? How can that tuner be worth a damn? There is a difference in tuing on a dyno and real world tuning at a track. Doug has the experience to not only tune evos to make power, he knows how to tune evos to GO FAST!! Going fast at the track, after all, is the real test. Its the reason you put money into your car and its the answer to THE question. Tuners like Topspeed, AMS, Buscher, all have the experience of the track that they add to their tunes when dynoing a car. Despite the fact someting may look good on a dyno, they know (from experience) that when that car gets on the track or on the road that this setting or that setting works better.

Im not trying to start an argument. Just posting a thought. Feel free to ignore my thoughts. Feel free to take your evo to other tuners in GA. Just makes it easier for me to bust your Evo's ace at the next import showdown.....MUHAHAHAH!
