We're all a bunch of type-a gearheads, talking **** and ego over inflation comes with the territory

Hopefully... I can get the bluebrick out of the workshop this evening, so that should pave the way for the evo to go in and parts to come out. Since I'll be in the 'ham next friday anyway, I might try and shoot to have this stuff in a box to take with, so I can sling it through their window ( ). I do need to build a box and get the other trans ups'd off up north, maybe I'll try and do that while I wait on parts this afternoon.

then you'll have no problem with beating me from a roll then i guess. and i'm sure you wouldn't object to having multiple people recording this event either right?

that's a lotttta talk for an untested setup

The question isn't whether or not you can handle an Evo... the question is.. have you been beaten with a brick lately?

lol beaten with a brick. nice
. well.. im going from basically a 5-9psi setup. that would pace a stock evo. and got me to 12.8 with slicks, and still doing a 2.2-2.6 60' time.. which is sad.. and im going to 18psi on e85 on a little bit faster spooling turbo.. so im pretty sure ill be ok!

goal is (from a roll.. not a dead stop)basically to be able to keep up with a evo similar to brians, ceasers q or matts. not so i can talk ****, but because i think its a realistic power range for the street.. just enough to have fun, and hopefully not to much so i stay out of trouble.. since they all have almost the same mods.. thats the goal.. and i personally feel thats easily achievable.. i highly doubt i could do anything in the 1/4 still.. but low 12s id be happy with since it did 19flats stock.. but really dont care about that, my only goals are for beating surtain people from a roll.. (really beating hanks gti is the goal, just to **** him off)

oh.. and im expecting the drivetrain to take a dump once its rolling again at higher boost.. so i might not be able to try it vs anyone.. which would put it into its next stage of mods.. lol o well

gotta spare transmission? there are a couple things you can do to them for free/cheaply that can aid in them lasting a bit longer.

i dont have one ready. im probably gunna go pick one up before we swap the motors. its an automatic, but when it blows i might just use that as my excuse to swap it to a manual... ive been thinkin about sending off a 5spd to get built just so i can easilly swap to aem ems or an evo ecu.

At least you are setting resonable goals. All 4 of the above mentioned are VERY lightly modded and for a 16 second lancer to get into the 12's is quite impressive on a side note. You as well as I know that it qould be hard as hell to beat any half descent Evo driver in the 1/4 thats why I see your "from a roll" mentality. Hurry up and get that car on the road

well the clutch has pretty much completely checked out. hopefully I can miss the rain & get the heater installed in the volvo fairly quickly, and then get the evo in for the teardown.

i dont see a mid 11 second capable car as a lightly modded evo either. its not just an intake and exhaust on them.

'from a roll mentality' isnt really for evos, its for any car, because i dont like watching 300' street races. there pointless, any 'decent' driver(awd), should jump 3-4 cars on me before i even move, so why race from a dead stop. we can compare 1/8th mile and 1/4 mile time slips all day long, id rather see what kinda power and acceleration a car has, not what kinda times it makes.
power to weight and acceleration is the game i play, not time slips and traction.. if i cared about 1/4 mile i would of gotten a rwd car and big slicks a long time ago
