it was a warm day at mmp yesterday. only saw one evo racing. Didn't get much time to take things in, I was constantly ****ing with the car or the tune.

ProEFI is great... you can make a boatload of power, then three days later, inexplicably, you're missing half of it.

well according to just about every shop ive talked to about buying a 'built' tranny, theres no way to build the automatic to handle 500+ hp. so im actually trying to source out parts for a manual trans now. but no one offers a clutch setup that handles more then 450! errr

donno where to start with rebuilding the trans, dont even know what broke. i assumed it was the trq converter since it now rolls no matter what gear its in, but i donno anymore. nothing shot out or broke the case. which was a big let down, i was really looking forward to shutting down the track for 30 mins. (lol just kidding)

i mean it was only a 7k revlimit neutral slam.. Stupid traction.. it hooked and sad NOPE, Fail.

Now you're on the right track ...

I'd say talk to SPEC about a clutch. They are local and probably your best shot at getting a 500+ clutch for an econobox.

might have broken an input or output shaft, or you might have just blown through one or more clutch packs. You can probably get uprated clutches for that automatic from Alto or Raybestos.

are you sure the manual trans will hold the power? and get a clutch for well over your power level.

no one really knows.. its the same trans that the 02+ 2.4L eclipse n galant uses(F5m42, if i remembered that right).. only issue with lancer guys ive ever heard is a few broken clutch forks, But no one is really maken over 350hp, and no one is using them at the strip with slicks... id have to call a few shops to find out about people not on the forums. gunna send out some messages now to find out.

whatever i do it needs to be able to handle 7k launchs at wot. otherwise its just boggggg off the line every time.

Be sure to get a wet kit that can handle the extra flow needed for E85 though. I have never specced a nitrous kit, but I'm under the impression that the jets are paired for a specific AFR with gasoline. If the jets are based on gas, you'd need one to run ~8.5:1 to get the right mix.

wouldn't be that hard to get the right fuel jet size, typically for e85 stuff you run ~ 30% larger injectors or higher fuel pressure, that sort of thing, so get a jet that's ~30% larger than what would normally be spec'd for a normal gas-wet setup..

can you do table switching with the ecu? if you could do that, then I'd run a dry shot and tune the fuel and ignition tables accordingly (which you're gonna want to do anyway). It's not that difficult and it's a whole lot of fun on a forced induction car. I bet a 75-100 shot from 2500-3000 rpms would drag that tub out of the hole with some force.

also, on the jetting.. you can get 'jet kits', you use the same (type of, not matching numbers) jets for fuel and nitrous, what you're looking at is the number on the side of the jet.

ya i had been thinking about adding a 50 shot. thought it would work very well with getting the car out the hole with the auto. but with a manual, i dont think a 2step would have that issue.

looks like spec has a 'stage 5' clutch, no idea what its rated to. but looks like a pretty serious clutch. found a Mt for 250. worse case senerio is i blow through a couple 300$ clutches.

Think im gunna yank everything on the 11th, and reshave and paint my engine bay
