This is a meet, however we drive sport compact. Sport as in competition. Victor, Manie, Felix, Brian, Josh, Ramon, Dipz, Carlos, Ryan etc did not invest in their vehicles for them to sit pretty.

Its not how you stand by your car, its how you race your car, remember that ****.

Seriously if someone told me there was a meet in Miami where I would have to drive 4 hours in order to race on an 1/8th mile track, I'd never go. I think others would feel the same way.

If its just a meet it shouldn't matter if its 1/4 or 1/8. As long as it is somewhere that can accommodate for everyone coming out. You guys can even do one meet this year at CFRC and the next year the other at OSW or visa versa. Or do one every other month.

Just looking forward to meeting new people, spinning some tires and having fun! ;D

I've driven to Orlando from Miami on more than one occasion for just meets, at Procco's and then to Lakeland twice for the shootout's Procco held last year. 1/8 or 1/4 mile really doesn't matter to me. It's about us getting together to have fun and shoot the breeze. I love the Orlando EVO scene and I'm down for whatever you guys decide.

^^^^this guys got it, it's a meet with a little xtra fun so it doesn't matter 1/8 or 1/4 mile, but to me I have fun when I can hook and go like last nite I had a great time with no problems of traction
Here is a vid of me against a V8---->I guess he didn't got the hint from my tag

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0XhvguRpFo Thanks Matt (Kerr) for the vid.

Always great to hang with you Pete , I look forward to racing you again .

OK , to those that are so against doing the meet at an 1/8th mile track why don't you instead of just saying NO - why don't you try to get OSW to give us just a bit more then just "show-up and hope for the best" . If you're willing to say NO then you MUST be willing to invest time into actually trying to get something done to support this meet instead of just being negative about things . Here is the body of facts associated with this thread .

1 . We need a place to meet at without being kicked out - a Drag track would be great so we can also run our cars

2 . OSW in the pass has done very little to accommodate us -- Yet I , like many others are still willing to go back if we can get them to do something for us - anything .

3 . We have people driving to Orlando from everywhere . These people need to be shown a bit more consideration then just - I'm gonna ***** because I wanna run 1/4 mile regardless of your investment of time and effort to dive hours to support the community .

4 . We had the CFRC call me on my cell to offer his track to US for our meet . So we now have that track as a real option for our meet and we'll have the track to our-selfs without having to wait on others to run their cars .

5 . The down part of choosing CFRC is that some do not like the idea of running 1/8 mile . I just wanna have a good time , yes the 1/4 would be great but the BS that may or may not come with it will not be !

6 . The down part of choosing OSW is that we'll have EVERYONE there just like last time and we'll have no runs and once we run we may or may not be able to get a good run .

7 . Mannie Senior likes young boys and midgets .

We have to be open to options and if someone rejects on idea posted then that someone should offer some sort of idea of their own other then "NO" . Finding solutions to a problem is key in getting things done , saying no is actually very easy but being active and getting out there and making something happen is something else .

----The schedules for Bithlo are not suitable until Oct 13th although we migh be able to work something for Sep 12 , i have a great relationship with the Owner of Bithlo and iam sheduled to meet with him monday on a tel-conf, this was the same way i set up last time's event, Tim @ Bithlo was super about letting us have the entire inside the gates place right next to the staging lanes.
However lets see how details will work this time.

I am not sure who Tim is but - Randy and Carl are the owners of the track... If there is a time frame that we are looking and we can get a general idea of how many people and cars that would be better than just calling and saying we are looking to house a meet at your tarck. With time comes the availability to get other stuff planned for the day, we can look for some sponsors to help pay for the rental day at the track for a huge show that can be one of many to follow.

Domino
you are correct Randy and Carl are part of the crue, however Tim is the man he has the last word, he took over the old man
last event i was told by Randy to go thru Tim.

to me it doesnt matter, it seems like most of the racer are prefering the sticky track even though is an 1/8 over spinworld.

Frank@Xtremeboost, is the main guy for this event all details should go thru him, us vendors and supporters will do our best to help him and the community make this happen.

But anyhow keep us posted on what are the details you get.

As long as there are young boys and midgets, I will go, .

If we are thinking of having the meet in September or October, there is plenty of time to choose a place.

I would say to do a poll, and let the majority decide the place and date.

If it is done at an 1/8 mile track, I will only run the car may be once or twice.
My first choice would be a 1/4 mile track to get my full time and mph.

But I will enjoy a meet any where.

Let's do it and have some fun.

Whatever happens we have to be sure what happen last time at OSW doesn't happen again ! We cannot show-up there with 30 cars and have another 50 cars there not allowing us to do anything . The idea is to have fun and if we're at a track that fun should in some way mean we're running our cars down a track more than once . The best idea would be to have some sort of time when US and ONLY US can run the track - that will ensure that we get a good amount of runs in without having to get 2 gallons of RX7 oil off the track . If they can at least met what's being offered by CFRC that would be a great thing . CFRC is offering to allow us in 2 hours before the track opens and allowing us to run 1 hour before the track opens .

I 1000% agree with you in that running a 1/4 mile track would be best , but I do not want to be there for 6 hours to make 2 runs - it just is not going to for happen for me ! For those hat know the "owner or owners" of OSW , communicate to them that we're looking to pay our way in and NOT looking for anything for free !

Thanks for your assistance Jarad. Let me know what kind of options we have available.

If we can come up with a deal where its like $20-50 per person and we can have the whole track to ourselves, that would be optimum.

There is no main guy for this event. Part of keeping this a neutral meet free from bias, will mean that the meet will not be held at any one shop in town and vendor input will be equally taken into account. All vendors and members will have the opportunity to offer up and contribute to the success of the meet.

Thanks for the input Manie. Many good points.

For those who have raced as much as you and I have, understand that 1/8th mile is a lot of wear and tear on a car for only half timeslips. Most of the wear done to the driveline happens on the launch and there is little more than a launch and a gear or two on a short 1/8 mile track.
