jesus... stock bottem end? sick

Kings Fan May 10, 2006 08:33 PM

Good mother of the lord.... what happens after 6700 rpm?

inco9nito99 May 10, 2006 08:37 PM

Wow thats ungodly...how are you able to run 280's on stock valvetrain? Or is this just to prove dyno numbers and not streetability/reliability. Those stock springs wouldn't be able to withstand the cam grinds on the 280's for too long IMHO.

fynetune May 10, 2006 08:52 PM

Before we where using 272's and notice that the cams where worn a lot but when we checked the spring tension they seemed to be fine. We have quit a few cars running on the stock springs remember the only difference between the cams is the duration, the lift is pretty close to the 272's and 264's. Drivability is more than fine even with these cams; I have not really noticed any difference in drivability from the 272's. However we are looking to go to ferrera valve springs sometime soon.

Cool, OK, How much???????

fynetune May 10, 2006 09:07 PM

Well have numbers soon. I will post when kit is fully ready and available. We are trying our best to make this kit very close to the cost of a GT35R kit...

What's the time frame?????

fynetune May 10, 2006 09:12 PM

another 2 - 3 weeks granted there are no fabrication issue's that need to be addressed..

slowevo4me May 10, 2006 09:21 PM

well, one thing is for sure, you know how to make decent top end power, especially on a stock block, but something has got to be done about the bottom end power. Just as an example, on less boost, I make about 70hp more @ 6500, and over 300hp and 300ft/lbs more at 5000rpm with my 35r. all this on 29lbs of boost.

fynetune May 10, 2006 09:25 PM

reason for that is stock compression is stock 9-1 ours has been lowered quit a bit with the 1.5mm toda head gasket we put on. We are still tuning and will share as we progress... Your forgetting as well from what I see your motor is a 2.4 vers a 2.0

Boost Freak May 14, 2006 07:40 PM

I am confused, Cause stock compression is 8.8:1.

EVOMIZ May 15, 2006 07:19 AM

so what will a 1.2mm headgasket do for compression?

A freind of mine runs 280s on stock turbo and Meth. It surpised the hell out of me that it idled so smoothly after his tune. Then Friday I met some kid with a 2nd gen DSM with 264/272 and it idled like a cammed Chevy big block. Crazy.

those numbers will be good for 10's
