Alabama Evo's -- Steele drag strip
 

My Bud and I went to the track for Friday night madness. It was a big crowd with the usual hot rods and lots of ricer imports and tons of bikes. the music was a blarring and the crowds were heavy at the start lines on both sides of the track. One big part atmosphere for sure.
I ran my personal best of 12.5 @ 111.4 with a 1.74 / 60ft. The track was slippery and getting worse as the night went on. My Bud did a 12.7 for his personal best to date. I feel we can do better when the track sticks better. We were all over the place in 1st and second. On 2 occassions I had to shut it down cause of getting sideways.
I anyone is looking for a fun filled Friday night come on out to Steele, the gates open at 9pm and they colse the staging lanes at 1am. So depending on the crowds you can get a good number of runs in. The cost is $10 to run all night. Hope to see you Alabama/Georgia people out there next Friday night. I'll be there trying to get my times lower, hoping to get a better launch and lower my 60fts.

We need to get Trae "laynlow" and "touring bubble" to go with us. Anyways...if youre on for tonight Im in. But have to get 2 tires mounted first.

We were going to Steele but found out they had some sort of bike night there. So instead we drove down to Montgomery t race there and as usual we got rained out. This was the second time to drive to Montgomery only to have a rain-out, we are jinxed when it comes to Montgomery. I sure wanted to lower my times, maybe next weekend.

My buddy and I maybe up for it. I'll try and let you know something. He's been thinking bout a 350z but one good ride in someones evo may CHANGE is mind.
Anyways, maybe I'll bust a high 14 in the 07VWGTI(haha).

Oh by the way I use to drive an evo too. I've been down grading in through the years from 03evo to vwr32 to now 07 vwgti

BTW, it was a 12.6, not a 12.7 =). I'll have some more parts soon, so I might head back up there. I kinda feel that it's mute with this crazy heat recently ... no one on boost is going to be running well in this weather.

I'm definately going friday night. I"ll have my other 2 tires mounted and am gonna try out a few ideas on how to lower my time. We should meet-up for dinner before we go up. C said he was coming so we should have a few Evos there.

nope i was not there. haven't been to the track in a while. Adam you need to come out and autox with us! your VW will do great. last sunday we had 5 Evos out there, it was a blast.

the next one is Aug. 19th i'll try to remember to post it up over here.
