Reflash EGT's

I am pretty close to getting the TT reflash, 2 of my friends have the dyno flash and I am not super impressed last saturday I raced one guy who has had a full custom flash and has 264's, rs intake, full turbo back hks exhaust, and boost set to 20psi. I have stock dp, custom cat delete with custom full 3" exhaust the rest of the way back. Injen intake, and boost set to 19psi. I rolled him up 2 times from a 3rd gear roll. I will give him a benefit of the doubt on the runs because he said he needed new plugs as his were originals and he had 30,000 miles on them (lol). Anyway my main concern is reliability and safety, dynoflash is supposibly a safe tune. I run 93 all the time no 91 and dont want any detonation issues, currently my egt's are high, I figure its 1 of three things lack of timing, possibly lean it seems to be dumping alot of black smoke still at higher rpm's, or the restrictive dp is backing things up. I plan to change that and go to some 272's. What kinda egt's should I expect. I want a good power gain but ultimately lower egt's and a good safe streetable tune. Thanks in advance fella's.

I also made more power than a couple AEM guys with similar mods.
