This might sound stupid but can you do this with the valve cover still on the motor or do you have to remove it to do it? Its as simple as just pressing them into the valve cover and thats it? Just double checking.

Question

Yes ^^ bump for this question do the STM valve cover fittings just "fit" in or do you have to mod the valve cover?

For the 3 port catch can is the balance shaft breather or dipstick breather the better option?

OK because the side valve has metal protruding but the PVC is obvious does the metal bit on the side valve come out?

Good day,

I have an evolution 7 valve cover from STM with the stock PCV Valve Plastic Fitment at the back and the Metal Nipple to the side that runs to the intake filter.

Would the STM Push in fitting works on this cover? Can the side nipple be pulled out or would the cover need to be taken out for machining or drilling/tapping?

Reviving a blast from the past.

I have an Evo 7 valve cover. Just bought the 6an front and rear push-in fittings from STM only to realize that the plastic pcv fitting at the back is too large for the 6an fitting. Is there a part number or a link to a fitting that will allow it to work?

Have emailed STM but haven't gotten a response as yet.

Yup, I too am also wondering this. Just bought a JDM evo 7 valve cover and trying to retrofit it to work with the STM -6an push style fittings. The collar from my 8 valve cover is too small.

On my valve cover it had a rubber gasket (p/n 1057A033 or MD179909). I found that if I pushed the fitting all the way into the gasket it would fit snuggly so I ended up using Gorilla epoxy around the fitting inside the gasket to hold it in place (not my preference but it works). So far there are no signs of oil escaping from around the fitting.

However, I did do some research and found a thread that suggested using the pcv gasket from an early 90s Honda (p/n 11853-PR3-000) and it should fit with no problems. I couldn't find it locally though but it is available on eBay.

Would it be possible to take a -10 AN press-in fitting for a USDM valve cover and install it into the JDM valve cover, using JB-Weld or simething similar?
If not, I guess I could buy a 1/2" NPT to -10 AN fitting and have it modified to be pressed in to the larger whole in the JDM vc and held in place with epoxy.

Thanks,
JCG
