CBRD's New Big O2 housing and Downpipe
We are proud to release our new big vbanded o2 housing and downpipe combo-
it features a larger (apprx 3") outlet on the turbine side and 2.5" WG side--
We are not fans of Wastegate dumps- for sound regulations and plain and simple that we dont like noise ourselves !!!
We had also seen many issues with the WG dumps being designed improperly and causing boost creep as the flapper door would open and at the same time it would be blocking the path down into the WG dump tube---
this was causing a problem in high gears on road race and street cars where the boost would want to creep---
We wanted to be able to PROPERLY control boost through a free flowing o2 housing setup- and in conjunction with a good 3 port and proper tune- have excellent boost control!!
Here are some pics--

It even stands up on its own!!

And some pics from our clients that have recv'd them..

Please note- these (like all CBRD products) are built to order--
included is the following:
CBRD - O2 housing with vband
Downpipe- vband- for evo 8/9
New SS gasket
and rear gasket with hardware
You can add a secondary o2 sensor bung (ss) for 25.00
Shipping is 32-58.00 in the continental US-
Price is $895.00
If purchased WITH a CBRD BBK- or BB turbo you will receive a $100.00 discount!!
Cheers

Hay!!! Those shots are from the Australian guy!!! I ordered this combo from Chad before he was ready to "officially" released them. As I recall the conversation started with " hay Chad kiss my butt and take my money".
I was released that he remembered me from the couple of phone conversations and PMs.
I've been around cars and working on them since before I could drive. Mainly V-8's until moving to Japan. There I was exposed to real Japanese performance cars, Evos GTRs, Silvias along with the supra and RX-7 we knew here. Well after MANY years of playing and comparing parts it become very easy to spot quality parts and subquality ones put together with $3.00 slip connectors.
I took a shot at a CBRD turbo several years ago with th BBK-full. A pretty much new and untested turbo then. Was not disappointed, so I knew this new combo was going to work. Looking at its design you can tell that a devorced WG path with and a true 3" main tube was on the minds of CBRD. I know I had to port mine when I got it years ago, tiny ret. hole and crappy edges. I was pleased to see that I got EXACTLY what I ordered.
So again I am happy to be the FIRST in my city to rock a CBRD Part. I'm still waiting to get a few other things before this goes on so for now it's a conversation peace. Usually the first question is " how much you want for it?". Chad looking forward to finishing up and getting it on. The Australian guy that put this on picked up like 26 whp an 16~19 wtq. What ever the NM conversion is, an did it on 5 psi less.

Now that is a proper O2!
Im glad what me and Brent talked about many months back is finally a reality.
If I didnt already have a Works O2 and had more $$$ laying around, Id def buy one of these bad-boys

$900+ for a SS o2/dp combo...someone needs to lay off the crack pipe
don't get me wrong, its a beautiful piece with an awesome design, but nobody in their right mind would pay over $600 shipped for an o2 and dp.

Hey, its the Australian guy
There are not many true 3" tubular o2 housings available. Some may consider CBRD's pricey, but its very good quality, hand ported and cleaned up, it flows well, fits perfectly, comes with a custom gasket, and allows me to enjoy zero boost creep and excellent boost control, especially in higher gears (tuning boost on this is very easy). It gained me good power on less boost over my Tomei o2/front, and significantly improved spool too. With a BBK Full I'm seeing 22psi by 3500rpm in 3rd and 20psi by 3150rpm in 4th. Personally, I'd much rather spend $900 on something hand made that is top shelf gear than more than half that on something mass produced of lower quality and inferior design. I held the invidia and looking at it, knowing what it cost me, I felt like I'd been kinda ripped off. I didn't fit it and returned it to the store. Holding the piece from CBRD when it arrived and knowing now what it's done for my car in terms of throttle response, spool, boost control and power, and knowing Chad's just a phonecall, PM or email away, to me it was worth every penny.

Chad awesome job and sweet design can't wait to receive ours in.
I picked this up back at the end of feb and posted this up in another thread:
----
This piece is awesome. Chad accomplished exactly what he wanted with this O2. Solid boost control, picked up some power, and feels like it picked up a little response.
I agree with Chad's initial impression from our conversation when I picked up the car, there is a small increase in response that kinda feels like switching to a lightweight flywheel. The motor feels a little more responsive. It is def noticeable but a different feeling increase in response than what it picked up from going to the ball bearing BBK-B.
I feel this O2 combined with the BB BBK-B is a great setup and compliment eachother well. There was a lot of work that goes into making one of these and it ain't cheap, but it is a very well designed and beautifully made piece.
Thanks Chad, and Brent (you outdid yourself with this one), and Mark too!
------
After several weeks and a good amount of miles, I am still extremely pleased with this piece (and my BB BBKB). The car is a beast and the response is amazing. As far as gains, Chad has dyno charts, but it made about the same numbers in at 25-30 degree higher ambient temp. So by his estimate about 10-15 hp gain, maybe a little more.
I was one that had boost creep issues with a dump setup, I've also had a Megan O2 and one other I can't remember. This one finally gave me everything I was looking for, and boost control is perfect. Also keeping it divided further downstream was a feature I had been wanting and talked to Chad about for awhile. As a couple others have mentioned, it was cool seeing this piece become a reality. It is pricey but the quality is top notch, as usual from CBRD, and no detail has been overlooked. Thanks again, Chad, Brent and Mark, you guys do amazing work and always exceed my expectations.
