So 550whp GTR vs 550whp Evo...
Is Evo keeping up?
.
a 550whp GT-R is going to have a TON more torque than the Evo. that's going to pull the car like a freight train.
i've driven a GT-R once but the feel, or lack thereof, just isn't for me. if i were buying a really nice daily, though... it sure would be a fun one to have.

Have driven a few and it is an amazing car but too big and heavy for the kind of roads I like.. Evo is like a ballerina in comparison..

Exactly. Just a preference for me. I cut my teeth road racing an Integra Type-R. Doesn't get much more nimble that that. LOL. But the computers in the GTR amaze me by what they can do despite the weight and bulk. Truly impressive. Those engineers earned their paychecks!
My 2009 makes 17psi by 3100rpm (500ft/lbs @ wheels) in 3rd gear. I went more aggressive on the intake timing at low rpm (34deg) to induce spool and then quickly tapered once onto boost. My mods are the same as yours except I run stock catted downpipes and stock muffler (modified pre muffler pipe).
Im at 30* on the VVT downlow. I don't really want my torque to come in any sooner though because of the stock rods.
Have you thought about trying to fab your own downpipes?
Did you see Steve's results? His car is just a 2009 with a full 4" exhaust and agency power downpipes and made really strong numbers at 18.8psi on 93.
Not sure how your state is , but the cats really probably are hurting you also.

its all relative-
once you build a GTR with proper modifications they are alot more raw- they are just too numb from the factory- there are also significant differences between the CBA and DBA cars as far as feel-
We have a unique one off Brembo Motorsport Brake kit being manufactured in a partnership with them, Custom JRZ 2 ways, and some other bits - so Im excited to track ours- its going to be a rocket with 800-1000hp on tap and big 13.5" michelin slicks!
A guy I know drives the new GTR GT3 at some events. I know it's no comparison to a street car, but it's developed into something awesome. So potential is there.
Ya theres a ton of stuff you can do. If the one you drove was stock its not fair to even compare.
I am running a custom trans code that takes stuff from the 2015 nismo and uses it in the 2009. We also have the shifts responding instant now with the paddles. no hesitation. it's so responsive, you can basically double downshift.
My suspension is also a KW Variant 3 coilover system which really stiffened the car up.
I have a ETS FP hta 3586R turbo kit i bought to put on mine, but i want to enjoy it first on stock turbos a bit more before i start going into that territory with the car.

things get retarded quick LOL- and trans expenses too!
we are doing dual 6758's then 7163 EFR's on ours- looking for more response for road course work-
True, the GTR I drove was stock. Seems like I'd have to double the price of the car to get it where I want, though LOL.
I'll stick with my Evo. My wallet loves me for that. :-D.
Here is a better video I made today to show how the car pulls in warmer weather. I turned off traction control so there was no interference with power delivery. R mode with traction control would do similar, but I wanted to make sure I was getting raw power with no assistance at all.
