Those are great numbers from a turbo designed in 1973 using a B cover (thats what makes it a hifi).

Driving this car today was something else, it is friggin fast.
I don't know what it is as I have tuned more powerfull cars but something about that old school turbonetics wheel, very aggressive.
Hope to hear some #s from the strack shortly.

Also the owner operated on a budget he had not too much of the "brand name" parts but man this car ran well, had the 280 cams with the reflash, some sort of rubber intake hose to the maf, dnp header, 60-1 hifi turbo, fuel pump, SMC meth kit, etc.

Made 475 on pump and denatured Alky, and 490 with a bit more boost and 103 mixed in the tank.

Seems like the spool is more akin to a S cover 60-1 but looking at how it builds torque I am sure it would be a blast to drive.

Is this the same turbo as the APS ST for the 350Z? Very interested!

Sean,

i originally use the same turbo on my evo 8, 60-1 T4 -58 hotside...

it was laggy as hell (full boost at like 5700) but when it hit, it came on hard...

i think we made 385whp on pump with it on a mustang dyno, torque was low at 338 though....

it was a fast car, the only thing i noticed, was the boost response between gears, it left something to be desired compared to a gt bb turbo.

good work as always

yeah I'm noticing that in normal driving that my boost.....just feels....blah....the car has a very linear power band, but it feels wierd. I assume that my torque is really low on the new turbo because of the low (21psi) boost.

I think my turbo will be something similar to this one, but I'm seeing full boost at 4700rpm right now on the street.
