CBRD Stainless Valve Cover bolt kit & Gold Foil install how too & review

well i have been looking for something too really kick up the look under my hood for a long time now. i always liked the gold foil look on the valve cover and never really got my hands on it.

till now......

introducing the CBRD stainless valve cover bolt kit and gold foil.....

me and chad talk alot dorning the day and when he sent me a link as always i knew i had to click it. well this is what i had open up...
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...highlight=cbrd

so i had to have it....

so chad quickly shipped 1 set over too me.

very well packaged up...

then as i open the box to my surprise this is how well in order it was

as you can see everything is verywell labeled and detailed from CBRD

here is everything layed out on the table

it also comes with detailed instructions

now since you can see how well everything is sent and nicly packaged lets get started on the install..

I DID MY BEST GUYS SO BE NICE....

1st you will need your directions........
then get yourself all the tools you will need....
10mm socket
6+inch extention
3/8 drive ratchet
4mm ally key
roll of paper towel
rubbing alcohol

here is some pics of what you need also

ok now lets get going on the good stuff.....

NOTE
my car is under the nife right now so these pics may seem a little different then a normal evo being worked on. i have other mods most dont have and put my stock parts on for this how too for your needs. hope it helps...

lets go

lets start with the spark plug cover... there are 4'' 10mm bolts that need to be removed

once you get all 4 removed you may now start on the coil packs/plug wires....
pull the 6 10mm bolts out.. 3 on each coil pack

now look to the left ''inside'' of the valve cover... see pic below for more info...
remove the 2'' 10mm bolts as well brom this braket and unclip the harness

now we can work on the inside of the valve cover....

there are 5'' 10mm bolts that will need to be removed.... BUT WAIT

see all 5 in this pic.... 1 is under that braket we just took off...

1 AT A TIME remove these and install a new bolt and sealing washer.....

NOTE
you will notice how easy it is to take the stock 10mm bolts out. there not tight at all so dont install the new ones tight eather...

the metal side of the sealing washer should face up and the rubber part down..

here we are useing the 20mm bolts ''longest ones''
with sealing washers

and 1 at a time install all 5 20mm bolts and sealing washers useing the 4mmallen key till your done...

sorry no cool pic for this one....

WASHERS OPTIONAL HERE
now that you have all 5 sealing washers and bolts installed lets move on...

lets put the coil packs and side braket back in....

12mm bolts and solid washers

here we will use the 12mm ''smaller bolts'' ans solid metal washers....

now that you have everything under your spark plug cover completed put your cover back on useing 4'' 12mm bolts and washers.... there recommended here....

now lets work on the outside of the valve cover..
get 8'' 20mm bolts and sealing washers....

again 1 at a time remove the 10mm bolt and washer from the valve cover.. the black washer somtimes needs a little help coming apart from the valve cover so pop it off there... there should be nothing there now......

and now install your 20mm olt and sealing washer

do this for all 8 and AGIAN DO NOT TIGHTEN TO MUCH. JUST SNUG THEM UP....

now that the valve cover is completed take a step back and look at your fine work... but wait your not done yet... brake time is over. lets get back to work...

now lets do the wire harness brakets on the back of the valve cover.. remove the 10mm bolts

now get 2'' 12mm bolts and wshers and use your 4mm allen key to install them..

you have extra bolts and washers left over.. this is because there are other spots left too go. i did not do them because some of the spots where they go are removed from my car so your going to have to read your directions or pm me and ill guide you where you need it.....

there are
2''12 bolts and washers for the top of the timing belt cover
1'' 12mm bolt and washer fopr the throttle calbe keeper braket attached to the valve cover

now lets get are gold foil on.....

BE CAREFULL HERE........

get your paper towel and rubbing alcohol

aply some rubbing acohol to the paper towl and clan off the frunt of the vlave cover real well...

now try not too get your finger marks on the vlave cover since you have cleaned it....

if you notcie the back side of your gold foil its marked for each side it should go on...

peal the white part from the gold foil and aply VERY slowly and carefully to each frunt side of the valve cover..

sorry the lighting in my garage is not the best. plus my camera is not all that great...

and now your all done and ready to go floss your new underhood mods from CBRD.....

pm me for any help or info needed...

i hope my how too is a good help...

THANKS too CBRD........ i primise to post pics in the daylight when i get the car on the road for you guys to see how well these few little mods can really kick it up under your hood....

Haha I'm sorry man I just think its funny that this "install" deserved a write up, I guess its because I ahve been struggling installing something without a good writeup for the last couple of days and these ones just make me jealous.

Congrats on your gold foil!

not to be a dick to you. but i was asked if i mind to post some pics. i said no problem because i like CBRD and chad very well..... i said ill just do a how too to help the people who WILL NEED IT out. there are people out there that dont know how to turn a wrench as well as you or i and need some good detailed help in doing there installs. what the hell is the problem with you people coming onto a forum where this stuff belongs and then bashing it.... i get more pm's asking how to install or remove some of the clear as day parts and i still offer 100% help and even have traveled or had people come to me for many installs... dont come into a forum or thread and open your dumb comments where there not welcome......

ill do a how too on shut the hell up next time just for you

sorry chad.....

If you need help removing your valve cover, you don't deserve your evo.....

I am glad you help people with installs, I do too, I enjoy working on cars too!

It wasn't a dumb comment, I bet it was a comment that lots of people who see this thread relate to, just don't voice, sorry.

There are no pics?
