What install issues? The old install issues from when it first came out? Or the install issues from the Skunk2 fuel rail when you dont use the Skunk2 intake mani with it?

i've read one or two posts where people have said that issues have been addresses by skunk2. i have yet to read anything with solid proof. i have very little free time that i can use to work on my evo. anything of suspect quality is off my list.

I recently had a Skunk2 intake installed at Buschurs while I was getting a 2.3l engine done. No issues were reported nor extra time charged for installation. I also had the Skunk2 TB installed as well. /shrug

just got this installed intake manifold with the 68MM TB also. the holes needed to be machined slightly to fit. and also i needed a new 90 degrees coupler. it was 2 inches short from the throttle body. great gains tho!

Apparently they still have problems with the BOV hose barb blowing out at high boost pressures. I'll be sending mine into STM in the next few weeks to get ported and those tapped to have thread fittings installed.

bump- anyone running this IM? If all the issues were addressed it seems like a viable option given the price.

Feel free to guinea pig it for us and give an up to date review. I think STM has had some success with them (after extensive porting).

Common wisdom says either port your stocker or get a Magnus and call it a day.

+1. Hard to see any magic in the skunk2. stock-ish size plenum, stock-ish length runners.

I have one skunk2 with a bit of porting to just smooth out the runners. My car picked a lot of power switching to the skunk manifold and 70mm throttle. Car now make 789whp/530ish tq. I can tell you that I would not spend the extra money on a Magnus or AMS unless its a full out build. As stated before STM has had success with their cat using the skunk 2 manifold car goes 8.09@182 using a ported skunk 2 manifold. If Magnus or AMS was that much better you would think that would have it on the car.

Your link is to a Skunk2 Honda intake manifold. The Evo manifolds look exactly the same as they always have.
