The long a waited APEXI POWER INTAKE review
Hello Guys, seems like there's currently no information what so ever on evo about the apexi power intake...UNTIL NOW, the Intake is currently installed but the engine bay is filthy as heck...So I'll be having engine shots and the rest of the review later. Since I just installed the intake late this night, I'll get my butt dyno to work tomorrow while I drive to work sneak peaks below:

Intake review:
Ok, after openning the package everything is nicely wrapped in bubble wrappers and the instructions are in japanese. It's pretty straight forward assembling the thing, heads up for the guys having a hard time reading the instruction, the two shorter bolts go on top and the longer bolts go at the bottom.
The installation is pretty straight forward and it requires some small hands to work around those bolts, the instruction requires you to remove the support structure at the bottom of the stock intake box. Since it was a pita to remove the last bolt I decided to leave the support there and only use one "leg" for the Apexi intake, the other leg is suppose to go here the stock support is but I found that only one "leg" is enough to support the whole intake without any movement.
Driving impression:
When I fired up the car on the drive way it sounded just like stock, but once I hit 1st gear @ 3000rpm I could hear a clear vaccum sound and while shifting to 2nd you can hear a loud "****" or "whoosh" depending on how much you go over 3000 rpm. Throttle response seemed to be improved from 900 rpm to 3000 rpm in 1st, and the car also runs alot smoother from 60km all the way to 150 km. Sound under WOT is loud with a vaccum sound which is enough to scare some other vehicles on the street. Over all my butt dyno sees an improvement over my HKS panel filter.
I'll recommend this intake to people who are looking at the cobb but wanted a heatsheid and some JDM bling under their hood.

I've been looking at this intake for a while.
but yeah the internal diameter of the pipe Vs stock would be interesting
ie is MAF rescaling necessary?
(in the pictures it looks like it necks down to a stock-ish MAF housing diameter, then opens up again)

Sorry guys....I was chilling with the gf for the weekends, engine shots are ready...I'll upload them soon as for the MAF, it does not tapper down it's the extra metal re-enforcing the bolt area which makes it seem that way. Also rescaling is unnecessary, ran the car for a week no cell..just remember always unhook the battery when installing an intake so the car's cpu can obtain new data for the MAF
