problem: someone help...

I just installed the Xede two days ago so im new at this.

But, everything was working fine until tonight. I had done two quartermile runs and everything went perfectly, but about 2 hours later when i got on the freeway, things got bad.

Everytime when i accelerate WOT in 4th gear (i only did it twice), the car jolts and like shuts down (fuel cut?) at about 4500 rpms, about 3-4 seconds after the relay starts clicking.

Im worried b/c i live in Southern California, and its not particularly cold.

Unfortunately, i have yet to install a boost gauge so i dont know what im hitting.

I have only a tb 3" exhaust, and the map was pre-installed by Vishnu for Stage 0+.

Someone please help. My CEL light is on now too.

Did you pull the code on the cel? I'm assuming it came on right when the incident happened, right?

^^^ This is your problem, this HAS to be the 1st mod you do, because you have no clue what it's doing? What if the xede is screwed up and you hit 28PSI and blow your car up? I think you are fine and I bet you have a P0300 code but get a damn boost gauge tomorroe!

its just discouraging b/c i figured the standard map would have been tested and wouldn't cause problems.

I have a K&N drop in, but i dont know if that has anything to do with it. Brett at Vishnu said they tend to come over-greased, so i wiped most of it up before intsalling it...so i don't think thats it...

I think Shiv needs to have a Sub-Retard stage, and it's a boost gauge Just being a ***

Things to consider getting and come in handy for troubleshooting.
-Boost gauge
-OBDII reader like a www.pocketlogger.com

Without proper tools your working blind. A start is to upload a blank map into the Xede or disconnect it, whichever is easier and see if the car runs back like it did before the Xede and go from there. Also check for possible boost/vacuum leaks.

Hiya,
Sounds to me like boost cut, without a doubt. Using XMap, you can drop your boost. Or, if you don't feel comfortable with that, I can do it for you and email you another map. All I need is your email address.

Hey alex - before my XFlash I had gotten boost cut in 50-degree weather so it's entirely possible that is what you're experiencing. Definitely jolting.
