Dyno Tales: Terry's v390 with Conditional Firmware
Here's Terry's 03 EVO that we custom tuned today. It runs a 3" free flow cat, downpipe, cat-back, HKS 264/272 cams and pump. The car was running an EBC, not the XEDE's boost controller. As such, it could only run ~20psi peak in the midrange-- as opposed to the ~22psi we usually run between 4000-4500rpm. As a result, the car is down 20-25lb-ft of torque in that region.
The car was tuned with the newest firmware with fully functional conditions, MAF smoothening, and other updates/improvements. Car feels very smooth under boost. It also idles very well with exceptionally good run-to-run consistency. All in all, I think you dyno day guys are going to like the new updates :) -shiv |

the conditional software is allowing almost 11.9 AFRs until 5700rpm? Does it keep the timing in check/low there? |

FWIW, if Terry's car had a wideband o2, i'd set the leanrun protect to intervene (cut boost and then fuel) if it ever ran a full point leaner than what I tuned it for for longer than a 1 second duration. -shiv |

The conditional features have nothing to do with that AFR. That's just what I tuned it to. It has a cat before the dyno's wideband so displayed AFR is a tick leaner than actual. Terry's car does not yet run SMART (all his SMART remain inactive due to conditionals that are never met). Without an o2 and knock buffer input, it really limits how much fun you can have with conditions. The only conditions functional in his car are for overboost protection and SMART activation/deactivation.
FWIW, if Terry's car had a wideband o2, i'd set the leanrun protect to intervene (cut boost and then fuel) if it ever ran a full point leaner than what I tuned it for for longer than a 1 second duration. -shiv |

excellent! i will be having you tune my 1++ wr at tt on saturday. with smart. with 680 injectors. and i'm bringing VP109 for my race gas map! can't wait.
