What are the differences in Xede's

Are there any hardware differences between the Subaru, Evo and Porsche Exedes?

For example, If I already had a Subaru Exede but sold the subie and bought an EVO, could I send the Exede to Vishnu to get the EPROM reflashed for the EVO, buy the EVO harness and install it in the EVO?

Thanks.

There are significant hardware differences between the Porsche, Suby and EVO XEDEs. The differences come from having to accept different kinds of crank triggers (60-2, asymetric, 30-1, etc,.) that different manfacturers use. While you can certainly use a WRX XEDE on an STi and an EVO XEDE on an Eclipse and a 911 XEDE on a Boxter (or even an Audi or VW), you can't mix and match XEDEs made for different crank trigger waveforms. Nor is it only a firmware update which dictates which CAS it accepts. So you gotta stay in the family if you want to move your XEDE from car to car.

The Porsche XEDE is a bit trickier than the rest, however. One reason is that the MAF sensor is 0-12v, not 0-5v which is what the XEDE is designed to accept. So we use a separate voltage converted to scale down the MAF voltage going into the XEDE and step it back up going out of the XEDE.
