A failsafe isn't a failsafe unless it detects knock.
Running lean doesn't do any damage, it's the resulting knock that kills it.

As for hobbs switches failing........it's bad installation.
You're supposed to put a diode across it for switching an inductive load.

The very same reason that fuel pump relays fail.

Just my annual check-in to support failsafing during increased power from alcohol boosted charge injection. 12 years and over 100,000 miles of methanol injection on stock block and head (excluding cams, springs).

I agree above, hobbs switches are useless in this application as they fail within a year.

My failsafe system is simple. It’s just a dual redundant 2 pump, 4 nozzle design with tephra 7 mod safety set to zero wastegate solenoid duty cycle during either boosted > 12.99 afr or boosted knock. The afr set point is not due to the value itself, but the conditions achieved during sudden loss of concentrated methanol supply. Have set to 0.5 sec to avoid false alarms during normal lean spike conditions.
