Hi there , I have been reading here for the past 3 days, and i have learned a lot .
I have a dune buggy with a aquamist set up. I was injecting meth and water , all was going fine until the carbs were plugging up with what garbage. I found out aluminum and meth do not work well. I was told to get ethanol. I looked for 2 weeks and found none. so i ordered it on line e85 ethanol. 80$ for 5 gal. Now i find this site and read that the det alcohol in the Ace hardware is ethanol 99%. figures it sells for 40$ for 5 gal.. One question is can i still use the e 85? It is 85% ethanol and 15 % gas. as I understand it.
I just got some 99% ethanol and mixed up a 50/50 mix. not sure how it will work out yet.
I am looking for 2 things. No pinging/ detonation . I read that the water will help keep the cylinders cool and act like a octane boost. and the ethanol will help with enrichment . I get a lean spike on my wideband at high boost. My last engine cracked 2 pistons. this new setup was working great until the white meth junk on the aluminum parts.
I am using a 200cc nozzle and have not felt any negative feedback, with that in mind should i go up in nozzle size? or if it works leave it. I want to be able to run on CA junk 91 fuel. I have been mixing AV gas and 91.. Thank you for and feedback .

I did not know the difference. i guess i waisted 80$. that always sucks. cant use it for anything. thank you. maybe it will mix. just add like 10% more ethanol to it . I tried the denatured alcohol today and it did not change my AFR. It should right? maybe I am not injecting enough?

I never ran Alky or meth, but owning a supra (currently), an EVo, and a Grand national I was around alot of people that did. I am working through some details now putting a kit together for my current vehicle. most guys I talk to tune to 11.9:1-12:1 on pump with an m10 or m15 nozzle...50/50 water/denatured, 50/50 water/meth, 100% meth all seem to be pretty common. With no way to actually see knock, it would be difficult to know that the system was performing its primary purpose, knock reduction. To answer you question, this is just my opinion, I wouldn't mess with the e85, and I don't know how much your a/f would should be affected...
