Anone using Snow's Safe Injection with an SMC kit?

I am in the process of wiring the snow performance safe injection unit and upgraded wategate solenoid also from snow. The problem is that it is designed to be used by the 12V signal the pump to feed the flow sensor which in turn feeds the solenoid. The SMC kits do not output a 12V signal to trigger the pump. They use an square wave progressive ground as a trigger. What I am thinking about doing is feeding constant power to the safe injection and tapping the ground wire into this square wave signal from the pump input. Being that this is a progressive signal, I am not sure if it will be able to provide enough ground to drive both devices. Has anyone tried this before? Suggestions would be apreicated.{thumbup}

Thanks
Ed

Doesn't sound like it is a good idea. Honestly Ed, you should have looked into the zeitronix AFR safeguard with ZAVT audio-visual warning trigger. It can be programmed on AFR, TPS, BOOST, EGT, RPM, AUX INPUT 0-5V or 0-5V inverted to trigger boost cut safeguards.

I would keep the solenoid and ditch the paddle flow sensor that will not help you anyhow if the nozzle popped off, fell in the intake, blew a line or leaked. :(

A customer of mine had that safeinjection installed and it leaked a week later. Their response to the leaks was "ADD WATER" 50-50.

The customer did this and it stopped the leaks but they were tuned for 100% meth. This is not a suitable response or solution to a leaking product. :(

Just speaking from experience my friend...

Thanks Scott but I own it now and I want to give it a try at least.

EvoTech, When the flow meter is installed correctly (tubing pushed in all the way and locked) with no binding or kinks - it will not leak at any methanol concentration. Even though this is just from experience with mine, I'm sure the others are the same.

Just make sure the unprotected piece from meter to nozzle is sturdy as hell so a leak wont happen.

As far as making the mixed system work, and you know as well as anyone here that you just need a 12vdc signal loaded at the SI to have it ready for routing to the solenoid. As for a square wave ground on the SI - who the hell knows, but I would be hesitant

Talk to one of the engineers to see if you can have an arming switch or 3/4 activated throttle switch with battery voltage ready to run the system, but the tough part would be how you should go about asking such a question in order to get a yes/no response (if you know what I mean).

And another problem is the resistance on the solenoid was chosen to work with the SP controller vdc output via SI, so you might get false failsafe triggers no matter how delayed the setting.

Perhaps the only real option for using a true failsafe hybrid mix would be with the aquamist sensor, but who knows. Let us know what you find

Tubing was pushed in all the way just like the 470 other push to lock fittings we have installed in Evo meth injection systems. The leaks have nothing to do with that.

The problem is that I only want it active when the pump is active. The reason for this is that I use the alky on a seperate meth map and I have it on a switch. If I provide constant power to the safe injection it will always cut boost to spring pressure on my pump map when I am have the meth switched off. This is my own fault for not realizing that the SMC kit uses a ground as the trigger. If the safe injection is active before the pump it will cut to 12 psi every time. I figured that it was a regular 12V trigger and this would be piece of cake. I should have known better. Nothing on cars is a piece of cake!:D
