HFS-5 Installed and Tuned!

I want to thank Richard L and Jack once again for providing me with such an amazing kit, I really really appreciate it, you guys already know that. It is by far the best kit I have ever seen and now that I can see it in action, it proves itself once again. Aquamist ALL the way! :beer:

Thanks to AMS as well for providing me with the Intercooler piping and the small battery kit. Their products are top notch. Thanks to Santiago, Frank, Eric, Darius and every other AMS employee I spoke to on the phone, I appreciate your patients. {thumbup}

I have to give a huge thanks to my good friend Abner as well. Without him helping me with the install, I probably would have lost it time and time again but I let Abner do his thing when he wanted to and tried my best to stay out of his way. Abner and I decided to do a custom tank/pump setup because he always has been/is still concerned with his setup having the lines protruding out into the trunk, where is is possible for luggage, golf clubs, whatever it may be, hit the lines and cause damage or a leak. So here are some pics of the pump set in the middle of the 2 x 6 quart tanks.

Here are some install pics:

I have to give a final thanks to my friend Nick from DTM. I took a long trip down to Virginia to have Nick tune my car. All I can say is the "numbers" do not reflect the power that this car makes for all you dyno number queens out there. This car pulls harder than it ever has. My car used to make 340whp on this dyno without the alcohol before the dyno was recalibrated and setup with a brand new computer. I was alittle concerned myself, but by seeing and hearing it on the dyno, I knew it was making some serious power. Then I took it for a drive, enough said. Thanks again Nick for such a safe and quality tune. You have never let me down {thumbup} Beautiful curves, I must say.

The installation is so neat, great work!!!

You have enough methanol for months with one fill :lol:

evilempire76 Aug 3, 2007 03:04 PM

Did you get the chance to run a baseline without the injection with the new calibration of the dyno?

dudical26 Aug 3, 2007 03:15 PM

Wow thats a lot of tank capacity, lol. Nice looking install, you and Abner did a great job.

What boost are you running?

Straight methanol?

Who is that in the trunk, lol?

Is it a problem that the lines go up before going into the tank?

What size nozzles?

nice job Nick!
Should we change our stock UICP to get the proper distance from throttle? Or are we cool with stocker?

Frenchy4g63 Aug 3, 2007 05:46 PM

Where did you place the BOV?

Yes I have plenty of methanol, haha. If you are running dual tanks everybody, 5 quart tanks are plenty, but 6 quart tanks work.

I did not have a cahnce to do a baseline unfortunately. I have had tons of experience with this particular dyno however and seeing on the dyno, I knew it was making some serious power. A stock evo will put down around 197whp to give you an idea of the power it is making. The car is an animal.

Boost?? Depends what time of day it is because it likes to change on me because it is sooo damn hot and humid around here, but between 1.8 and 2.0 bar.

100% methanol.

I can't disclose who that is in the trunk for his sake ;)

No problem at all that the lines go up, the Aquamist pump has absolutely no problem pulling equal amounts from each tank.

2 x 1.0mm nozzles, LOTS of methanol :beer:

You are just fine with the stocker, no worries, just take a look at Abners setup https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=239686 The stock Intercooler piping is perfectly fine.

badababababaaa, i'm loving it!

xiaoni420 Aug 4, 2007 09:11 AM

Oh and believe me everybody, the car is absolutely ridiculous on the road, an animal. It is waaay faster than my evo VIII with cams and all the bolt ons, and WAY faster than my IX has ever been on pump gas. In other words, it is the fastest any of my evos have ever been. You all will be thrilled to have this kit when it is installed and tuned {thumbup}
