Aquamist what? stealth tank+pump install

so here is how you can hide your aquamist tank and pump. i have the tank hidden in the same spot on my car so i knew that could be done. i took it a step farther and hide the pump below it in a customers car who wanted it to look stock. additionally, this tank is bigger then what i used on my car.

for those thinking to do this, it is a royal PITA to get all the hardware secure, not to mention you need to remove the bumper. i forgot to take a finished install picture, but basically picture a stock trunk, and thats what it looks like.

and the results of the tune:

notice the totally smooth transition when the methanol kicks in. AFR was 12.0 at 28psi, and it slowly tapered down to about 11.7 AFR at 7000rpm. boost hit 28psi and tapered to 23.5psi at 7000rpm. this is an 05 evo 8 on stock turbo. 93 oct 50/50 meth water mix.

{thumbup} to the HFS-5 kit

Very nice and stealth setup you got there Kevin. :beer: Aquamist {thumbup}

Its only stealth if you put the trunk liner back in! Looks good

dudical26 Oct 8, 2007 08:26 AM

Looks very stealth, nice going.

Only complaint is that it will be a pain to service the system in any way.

KevinD Oct 8, 2007 08:50 AM

^ yup. its definitely a pain as is. but i've come up with a plan for that {thumbup} the kit will be able to hide in there, and be easy to work on at the same time.

Hey man, What are you using to datalog?

Did you just tap the flow sensor voltage signal? I've got a spare input on my innovate lma-3 and had considered running the flow sensor output to it.........

i use the zeitronix wideband, and yes, i hooked the aux input from the zeitronix into the flow sensor signal from the aquamist kit. at 100% duty cycle on a bench test, the kit flowed 500 grams of water in 1 minute with the 1mm nozzle. therefor it was about 500cc/min flow rate at 100% duty at 125psi. sense we were at about 28psi, its safe to say we were not at 125 pressure differential across the nozzle. additionally the injectors were at about 90% duty cycle.

Kevin, this is a really nice install. I have been thinking, can a bracket be fabricated to take the tank and pump. The bracket can be bolted between the vertical chassis (right ) and the flood level flange.

You have to imagine the illustration below.

i was thinking of doing it a little differently. i'll email you my idea when i get a chance.

With the trunk liner in place, you can't see a thing. Kevin did an amazing job on the install and tune. I should have a dyno chart (Mustang) here in a couple weeks.

Kevin

Nice. Are you offering the kits already? I am thinking of moving up my plans sooner on getting one. The GT3076 needs more boost. I want a two 5 quart tank system. Let me know
