i'm new to this

i'm thinking of meth, i have evo 8 with full boltons cams, br licp, 255, and evo 9 turbo with evo 9 bov, would a bigger intercoler give me more power or just lag, and how does winter affect the car if tunned in the summer with meth. i know colder weather causes boost creep because i already experienced it but i just turned down the mbc to the right boost. i read a few post saying not to drive hard in the winter??? my car felt like it had at least 30 more hp on the same boost?? that sucks if you can not drive hard in winter because of meth.

I'm in on this too, I've heard good & bad things about meth?{thumbup}

If you are tuned properly and you pay attention to the boost gauge you will not have any problems having fun in the winter. The reason you have to turn down the boost in the winter is because the air is more dense and therefore you are essentially putting more air into the engine at the same boost level as you were running in the summer at the warmer temp.

so summer you can raise the boost if your tuned winter?:confused:

no... the reason your car feels better in the winter is you naturally will have a lower AIT... with lower AIT lesser chance of detonation

detonation is not a good thing. You mean you will have a "lesser" chance of detonation{thumbup}, but that will only go so far according to how much you may be boosting since it is colder out.

You are correct in the sense of having lower IAT in the winter but also, you may be spiking boost too. If you are using a mbc it is best to log on the cold days and adjust the boost accordingly.

I am in the same boat but have an evo 8. I do have the intercooler on the car. I was going to get it tuned in a week, but I am told to upgrade injectors by some and others tell me I am good with stock. What do you think

by the way I have all the same mods as aceinthesky2002
