Water Injection Calculator !

http://www.customperformancesolution...injectioncalc/

I'm running a single 1.0mm jet on my max'd out IX turbo and recently switched to E85 and saw some performance gains. This is a great tool to help you (and me) figure out what different jets should be used for optimal fuel percentages. I'm thinking of adding a 2nd jet (.5mm) to bring it over the top.

hey thats really neat.

nice find

what is the fuel pressure at the fuel rail in an Evo VIII?

esevo Dec 3, 2008 09:41 PM

^^^ About 4 bar or a little less... expect 45 psi or more on the stock evo.

According to that calc one of my customers is running a 56.121% to fuel ratio with 2 x 1.0mms!! lol. That car is just plain fast!!!

I have question on Fuel pressure.
My fuel press at Idle is 2.8 bar and 4.5 bar at wot.
Should I use 4.5 bar to calculate the injector size?

i used the calculator and got some weird results...

It's saying i need about 1000cc of meth flow to have 20% MFR...

seems a bit high, don't u think?

scheides Mar 17, 2009 01:59 PM

Nope, that's about right :)

2x 1.0mm nozzles should get you close!

These are ideal circumstances though, I think my setup only runs about 10-11% meth/water and I get great results. This is with a single 1.0mm jet.

I have been reading thread after thread on selecting the correct Jet and restrictor size but don't seem to be getting it. I am running a IX turbo with stock injectors and will be setting up an HFS-6 system with a 50/50 mix. I am a little lost on how to know what my Injector/Fuel Rail pressure are and what the duty cycle will be? Can someone give me a how to determine jet and restrictor size for dummies?? Thanks for the help.

Most of those values you leave as-is. Stock injectors flow 560cc's and you have 4 of them. You need to log your car to see what your peak IDC is but if you have a walbro and all the mods listed in your sig, you're prolly running about 100% IDC peak pretty easily (not bad, I ran mine up to 127% :D ).

Anyways, decide how much meth/water you want to inject and set that percentage, or guess at what jets you want to run and work your way backwards. Last week I switched from a single 1.0mm jet and added a second jet. I was going to add a .8mm, but all I had was a .9mm so I just went with it. That adds up to 967cc/min based on the chart listed on that page. I'm using 2 injectors, so divide that in half for 483.5cc/min per injector target (average). With my setup and some rough numbers, that gives me about 22% of my fuel ratio being water/meth. Since I'm going for max power out of the setup, this is a good % to be at :D

I attached a screenshot of the settings I used. Again, rough numbers but they work.

Hrmm...

So I entered my stats:

560/95%/4/20%/160/25

and it reckons I need 2x 0.8 jets...

But when I used the included chart from Aquamist it says I only need 1 jet?!?

Richard L Sep 14, 2009 11:22 PM

Tephra,

The chart on the HFS-6 is the maximum size jet without a tune. I don't think if will suit you.
