Direct Port Water/Meth Conversion?

Hey guys,
I got a CoolingMist kit a few months back on here, and my first desire was to use it as either a 50/50 injection setup or 100% water. Now the latter I'm reading on here is prone to causing unequal cylinder distribution, however I've also read that running directly on each port wouldn't allow appropriate time for the water to properly undergo phase change and thusly cool the intake air.

That being said I believe I would like to give it a try. My goal is to be able to safely run on a stock 4G64 bottom end/compression. Would switching to direct port be as simple as fabricating a distribution block and tapping each runner with smaller injectors and the same meth pump? Or are there unseen complications I'm missing?

Any thoughts/experiences on the matter would be appreciated!

That would be all you need. Be careful while tuning and make sure to use very small nozzles. You don't need much water.

Thanks!! I can't seem to find the size nozzle that my kit has with it, but the smallest size I can find would be 1GPH@100psi, would that be too much per cylinder? It's not a high-boost application, as you could imagine. :p

There I don't think is really a way to get water to phase shift in the pipes. Through a turbo, supercharger, or into the CC is about the only thing that will have enough energy to do it. You dont have to fabricate anything. Most companies sell a direct port upgrade, or all of the part needed for it.

Here is some good info...https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/wa...res-101-a.html :beer:

Good read!! thanks! {thumbup}

I figured the high temperature present in the piping would be sufficient, but yeah you're right, now that I think about it the temperatures present under even high-boost conditions aren't really sufficient to evaporate water.. Air pressure would make that even more difficult anyway. Found CoolingMist's own conversion kit, might go with that.
