I've seen a yellow and red. the front license plate says lancer evolution but it's off to the side to let air into the intercooler.

Also it's a old guy driving? with grey hair

YA i know it sounds like that but i saw 2 of them myself, of course they where driving the other way.

But they where without a doubt the evo 8. whats odd is the
front plate said lancer evolution like it was a show car? but i don't
think there's any car shows in town.

I work real close to this area. i'll see if i can see where there going.

They even had the carbon fiber wing and allezza's for tail lights.

What date did you see them? Did you check out Mark Mitsubishi? That dealership is in that area. I live in the east valley and that's kinda far for me. Get some pics if you can!!

 

I think i saw the yellow one 2/4 and the red 2/5 but they where
evo 8 for sure. i couldn't believe it but they where unmistakable.later

 

What was really funny is i was getting into the left turning lane when the yellow evo 8 came and was making a right in the other lane going the other way and i almost smashed into the car in front of me because i was staring so hard at it.hahaha

Damn evo almost made me wreck. guess that would have been a good reason to get one. still can't afford one yet. lay

 

They do have TONS of test tracks out here...Audi, GM, and more...so it is very possible that they were tooling around in a couple.
