Reno Area anybody?
^ Its a shame that you, and other guys like you will need to dig deeper into pocket to enjoy a track day. Hell even getting to the track is going to be a chore in itself. At RFR if you broke down you could manage getting a tow and it hurting but still being doable. To enjoy a track day now, having a truck and trailor is a must.
Seriously. I hate that it costs us so much to really enjoy our cars. I dont like messing around on the street, and just find very little enjoyment in drag anymore. Down in Vegas it was one pass then wait in line an hour. Not as bad up here but still just 11-12 second thrill and its alot tougher on the car then autoX or track is. But like Jeremy said, those too get expensive. Wish there was a way to improve driver mod that wasnt so costly!
yeah no links but I heard it from a corner worker at RFR , that it went up for auction 2 months ago and none was there to bid. I assume there letting the season run out but not sure.
Again I think its still just hearsay/ he said she said BS. I have a friend who races bikes there and when I brought it up she said it wasn't. Again I hope not. I mean there are great tracks in CA, but RFR is so close and it is a great track.
And unfortunately like 20psi said it really is a shame it cost so much for us to enjoy our cars. Thats one of the reasons I haven't been to a track event and I'm DYING to get to a PDX event, so I can get some instruction. Oh well.... Like they said you have to pay to play

Happy days....got my block back today. All nice with new pistons, rings, rods, bearings, and main studs. With luck will get my head back this coming week. All nice and cleaned, magna fluxed, ultra soniced, hot tanked with my old crappy valve guides replaced.
Good stuff....
I had a couple unfortunate events... link:
