Utah Evos
Not a comment on you as an instructer Jake, but after only one event I do not feel like I should be in another group yet. I need to get more track time, need to find a car that I can track and autox and dd that will be realitively cheap so we can buy a bigger house.
Part out has not really started yet, I have a number of parts that people have expressed intrest in but until I get a few more stock parts I have to hold off on the teardown. I am preparing a list of items and prices for you guys to look over. As soon as I get the stock fmic I will pull the upic piping, fmic, alky injection, and licp off the car. This is probably not going to happen until after I am back form vacation though.

Well I'm not a pro and havent been to the track yet but I filled out the paperwork for intermediate I'm not to sure if I want to be driving with a bunch of scary ricers. I haven't faxed or mailed it off yet I can't still check the begginer box
Evos are family sedans and don't belong on a race track. They're more appropriate for trips to costco.

I'm looking forward to getting back on track! Car should be done by the end of this month. Test and tune it out at MMP on the 10-Mar and then race season starts end of Mar.

That's kinda what I figured, but let me know.... With them, some alky, the 9 20g and an accessport tune I'll be set, I think. Ah the joy of the Evo, that's only like 2000 dollars with a rough in-the-head estimate. Minus install of the turbo.
PS just watched a video stock for stock the 6 is faster than the 9, so you suck Fick. That's all.
What, I can't hear you, I watched that video and I'm deaf now
Oh and by the way I will be selling my Autometer steering wheel column 52mm single gauge pod shortly, anyone interested?

Yes, i think i was originally supposed to be your instructor that day at the SCCA event. You were probably better off with Jake then, i was still FF.
I would suggest beginner for the first time at the track. Here is the worst case scenario:
That particular beginner group is a bunch of n00b ricers (the beginner groups is not always all that n00bish, road course and drag strip are quite different). You run one run group with them (20min) then request to be moved up to intermediate. The event coordinators are usually cool with this since they want everyone to be comfortable where they are running.
Best case is that we dont get a lot of n00bs and you dont feel pressured, but relaxed, and you can learn the line and improve your skill at your own pace. Its not fun to have to worry about passing slow n00bs all the time, but its also not fun to have peeps riding your rear bumper when you are trying to learn.
FWIW
What vid? Have a link?

He still would be better off with me
And that comment about being deaf was on the s2k video but let me see if I can find the video of the Evos again, its a Fifth Gear video, and the 6 is only a hair faster than the 9

Never understood why all the British videos show all the evos drifting around, I guess it's been a really really really long time since I've raced on the stock tires but still, come on...

I am going to ask $22,000 for the car with a turbo back exhaust, evo 9 turbo, hks 272 cams, dynoflash tune, clearshield clearbra, tinted windows and a few other little things. If there are other things on the car that someone wants I am willing the sell them ala' carte, but at this point, I am planning on parting most of it out.

It is not the mods that are the problem, I have a small budget that limits the amount I can spend on that stuff. Besides that I was really just down to a couple of things left to be done: Beatrush underpanel, Accessport, and zeitronix alky failsafe. It comes down to the fact that our house is starting to feel a little cramped and we would like a bigger one. To move to the area we want, in a house the size we want, without having all extra $'s we have now going into the house, we need to make some cuts. Unfortunately, easiest cut to make is part out the Evo and sell it. This will cut our insurance cost and the car payment cost which frees up enough that we will still be able to do stuff (like take family trips and autox/trackdays) while affording a bigger house. In a year or two I will likely pick up another evo, just have to wait until after things get settled again.

Not in a big hurry, but I could be motivated to work faster
What is your time frame?
Right now I am waiting for a few stock parts to come in so I can decontent it alittle, plus I am leaving for a week to the east coast. Also, I am waiting for my friend to pick up his new car (end of next week) so I can, most likely, buy his SE-R as a stopgap until i find something else.
I had a 2003 that i bought new and was totaled last summer. Scott Douglas decided to sell his Evo at the same time I was looking and I bought his. It lived a very shelterd life when he had it and only had 18,000 miles on it when I picked it up. Since then i have made a few changes and used it as a autox car and did 1 track day in it.
