The WORKS Water Injection allows you to run higher boost with lower octane fuels... safely. Since most don't readily find 100 octance fuel at the pump (and if they do, it's about twice what they normally pay) and don't want to hassle with trying to mix a concoction of xylene/toluene or the like to increase octane, we feel this is by far the best solution. Just straight pump gas in the tank with a water or water/alcohol premix in the reservoir and an extra few pounds of boost ready to go when you push on the gas

Jamie,

So if I were to order the WI Kit in the future, do you guys reflash the ECU to run higher boost? Also, how is this system connected to the piping? (DRILLED) Where is the unit installed? Under the hood near the back of the engine? Any photos of it installed?

Yes, the ECU is reflashed for a higher boost setting. The intercooler piping is drilled with one small hole to accept the water jet. The main unit resides under the airbox attached at the frame rail. I'll look around for some pictures.

Will users of stand-alone systems be able to use the WI product from works? If so, what sort of capabilities will we need to have to do so? Thanks!

Yes, stand-alone users should be able to incorporate the WORKS WI system without hassle.

Jamie - updates on when the kits will be ready? Some sort of a timeframe would be great; I cant be the only one who put down a deposit and is getting antsy...

Also, I'll assume that the WI kit comes with the same Works 3 yr warrenty as the rest of the works products? Ie in case the WI pump fails and causes engine damage etc...

Yes, you are not the only one who's placed a deposit and getting antsy The product itself is complete. The holdup has been getting the programming to incorporate not only the stock injector/turbo setup for a single sized water injection nozzle, but also incorporating programming for various injector/turbo applications as well as a multiple nozzle sizes. The programming itself is nearing completion and orders should be fulfilled early next year.

The safety precautions of the WORKS WI will save your engine in case of pump failure. There are built-in measures that will detect this and other situations (line failure, low water level) and cut boost levels dramatically to keep from causing any damage.

Jamie - any updates? A few more questions...

1. How many more pounds of boost are you guys planning on adding with the WI? Is the number the same for the 91 octane and the 93 octane P2 flashes? What kind of HP can we expect per lb of boost?

2. Since the "product itself is complete", does that mean that you guys are pre-assembling the kits so that they are all ready to install once you get the programming/injector issues settled? I as because at one time, you guys told me you'd only be able to make a few kits per month... sounds like the assembly is quite time consuming.

Sounds like a great product. So does it spray fine mist or is it like vapor and how much does it spray. My friend got a water injection kit for a Mustang and he says it's like a super fine mist to vapor and doesn't spray much water so you don't need to refill the reservoir often.

Will 91/93 ocatane usage be an issue to get reflashed for WI?

Will the timing be altered from the base P2?

I am running the p2, TBE, intake and soon works cams, and WI. Should i be considering ARP head studs with these mods?

ARP headstuds are always considered cheap insurance. Especially if you plan on running WI and upping the boost a bit.

Doing it at the same time you install the WORKS 269 Power Cams is a good idea since there is a lot of crossover labor and we are already in there.

We always have ARP hardware in stock and installation of the head studs is only an additional 45 minutes.

Hope this helps and good luck.
