WRP Exhale HFC

What's the flow difference between an average test pipe and the WRP Exhale HFC? If tuned for test pipe and installing the WRP part will there be any noticeable and/or worrisome change?

Thanks.

Cool

very little. the WORKS HFC flow is extremely high while keeping the air you breath clean. the difference in HP ratings is marginal. you feel a little more tq with the HFC than the test pipe. the test pipe on the other hand will give you PEAK numbers instead of a broad HP and TQ curve.

Shiv says 10 - 15whp difference between a HFC and a test pipe on average. I prefer not to pollute and I love my Works HFC. It's wider than the Ultimate HFC and I have thrown no CEL's.

BTW badhabit, what kind of whp numbers are you putting down with hose mods?

dont know. we dont have a AWD dyno anywhere near here. according to WORKS-i should be close to the 340 mark they have made with the TR340 package. basically what i have is the tr340 without the o2 housing.

Thanks.
Nothing worrisome should take place. There are generally some small peformance changes between a test pipe and high flow cat. Obviously the test pipe has no internal substrate to work its way through and can flow better than a cat. We also see boost come on a little stronger a spike higher with a test pipe. If you're tuned on the test pipe and switch to a cat, you'll probably only see a small dip in overall power--the rest should be unaffected.

The WRP HFC is advertised as only working with 03-05 Evos. Does this fit under the stock heatshield on the 06 models?

..and.. will it still mount to any catback?

Yes, it fits the 9 perfectly! I just installed mine this weekend and couldn't ask for a better fit.

I believe you need to use one of their intermediate pipes if you want the HFC on a IX. Reason being is that the O2 sensor moved from the IP to the Cat on the IX.

It doesn't matter, most just make sure your catback has an 02 bung. It really shouldn't be an issue since the 8's mounted their 02 on the midpipe, and most catbacks were designed with that in mind.

Yep, that's a good point. Thank you.

Thanks! I've been reading a lot about heat issues with the MR trans. The coated DP and a HFC that can fit under the stock heatshield look like a good idea. Just need to find a catback to mate to it.

The only fitment concern is the O2 bung and I believe the upcoming batch is taking care of that As mentioned, if your cat-back incorporates the bung, then there's nothing to worry about.
