My old post in this thread seems to have disappeared

Anyways.. I was wondering what team will be driving this car, so I can keep my eye on it. I'm really interested in seeing how the R/A will hold up for rally duty - especially gravel.

With that EvoX turbo, what kind of power are you planning on putting to the ground? Similar to a stock X?

alphawav - As far as I'm concerned, the SST uses synchros and cogs, so I wouldn't call it a "dogbox", unless WORKS is changing that (that would be soo badass).

@works - is there anything being done to the gearbox besides the upgraded cooler?

WORKS will be running the car in Rally America and we are at about 333whp right now. We would like to keep the SST transmission in the car and not have to use a dog box. And the dual coolers worked awesome this weekend. In 115 degree weather both Saturday and Sunday we put the RA through some rigorous track duty in tarmac form. There is still some more RnD that needs to be done. We have a few practice areas scoped out where we will be testing the car in gravel form later in the year.

I'll be posting pics tonight and tomorrow.

Awesome! It will be cool to see a "lowly" RalliArt racing in Rally America, and not just Evos.

I hope that the SST will hold up, and not necessitate a different gearbox. When I made a comment regarding changing to a dogbox, I was simply referring to changing the internal gear sets to accommodate dog engagements. This would obviously be a ton of custom work, but I would imagine that at least the electronics/hydraulics/actuation systems would not need to change.

I'll be rooting for you guys

Yah, in order for us to get the car lower we had to use the stock endlinks and hats and different springs in the rear and the front endlinks were modified as well. The car handled very well on the ZMax Proving Grounds track. The driver Lars Wolfe was very pleased with the balance of the Hot Bits coil overs. As well as the SST transmission standing up to a rally driver at the wheel with the 115 degree heat.

And yes the rear sway bar is stock... we are working on a rear bar solution (the car needs one).

Troy -
1) What is the SST secondary cooler you guys are using and is that package available to us now? More details on the SST cooler please.

2) How many miles do you have on the car/ SST transmission? My SST transmission failed on the freeway going 70mph at 5700 miles under regular use. It only saw spirited weekend use...mountain driving, no track racing or lapping. The transmission started to slip in all gears.

Hope all these mods you are doing become availabe to the general public soon.

Thanks.

alphawav - The current cooler is a Mishimoto core and the comprehensive kit will be available once we complete all of our testing. We are currently looking at final temps, fitment, brackets and fittings and we will put it up on the website for you to purchase (the price is TBD). We are also looking at what can be done to strengthen the transmission too.

xed32 - Yes, these should also fit a lancer GTS.

Thanks Troy. Still don't know how many miles on your SST tranny, but good luck...

Is this where you will post what happens (if anything) with your Ralliart's SST transmission? if so I will bookmark this thread.

I will be looking into any parts you guys release for the SST! keep up the good work.
