AEM Infinity Ignition sync & Tuning explained
I do a lot of Etunes for customers all over the world and wanted to share a little DIY video of exactly how to correctly setup/sync the ignition timing on the new AEM Infinity engine management systems (infinity 6, 8H, 8, 10 and 12 all use the exact same sync process.)
Check out the Blog Learn to Tune AEM Infinity like a pro for a full step by step process and explanation behind exactly why you always need to sync ignition timing before you start tuning.
You will need a timing light to perform this task and it will help to have an extra set of hands/eyes to work the timing light at the engine. (It is possible to do this alone but you will need a long USB cable so you can be connected to the Infinity/view the screen/key board and use the timing light at the engine.

Yes after it sitting for a while recently its back on track. But it is still a bit rough on the start up and possibly a bad boost solenoid. So on my start up it takes about 3-4 cranks to "sync" and then it fires right up after about 1 crank. I know it isn't getting fuel or spark while it is syncing. Any idea on how to make it sync faster?I've seen videos of evos running infinity that start up just like stock

your Infinity is taking a few cranks to sync?
try a nice fresh battery with plenty of cranking power, i have seen slight voltage drops cause a delay in sync. Besides that there are a few things to address in the tune that can help.

So the trigger disk will help, since it has more teeth it can sync faster. But you will still have between 1-3 throwaway cranks. I have had some super fast starts, and I have had some slow starts. But most of the time for me it is in the 1-2 cranks area to get sync'd. Also as the weather cools down and being on E85 I will see slower starts, just because I have not spent a lot of time tuning in the cold. Since we are socal, our cold is like 50*

I'm also on the stock trigger wheels and cranking was a bit slow with my old 500cca battery. I modified an EFI battery tray and installed an Odyssey 1100 battery . Cranking improved alot and is acceptable now in any conditions with the Infinity.
Most aftermarket ECU's don't like low voltage so I would make sure you have a strong battery/alternator.

You also want to get your cold and hot start fueling correct before going to Ethanol.
FWIW, I put a Motec m130 on my car and it starts as quick as stock without any delays.
