Lightly Modified Evo IX RS on E85
I recently had the RS tuned for E85.
Modifications:
3" WORKS TBE
K&N Cone filter w/ MAF adapter
ETS Lower Intercooler Pipe
Hallman Manual Boost Controller set at 26psi
Phenolic Intake Manifold Spacer (EGR hole on manifold is welded shut)
Walbro 255LPH fuel pump
PTE 1000cc fuel injectors
390whp/395wtq on a Dynojet
The car was tuned by Steve Pearson at PSI Proformance. They were very professional, and Steve does very nice work. No rush job here.
We were initially talking about tuning at 28psi, but after getting these numbers Steve didn't want to push his luck with a stock clutch. Yes, I still have a stock clutch, and it has 55k miles on it. At no point during the tuning did it slip, and it still feels good at 395wtq. I don't launch the car, and will continue to run the OEM clutch until it starts to slip.
To see an interesting comparison between my 93oct tune and the E85 tune, reference my old thread.

The pump gas tune was done by Sean Ivey on his Dynojet back in 2007. The car hasn't changed too much since then. In '07 the car didn't have the LICP, it had a 3" Buschur TBE in place of the slightly more restrictive WORKS TBE and it didn't have the Phenolic spacer. The Ivey tune was done at 24psi and produced 336whp/337wtq.
So in short, the car saw a 16% horse power bump (54whp) and a 17% torque increase (58wtq). We stopped at 26psi, so there may be a bit left. Needless to say, the car is a lot of fun to drive.

Wow I am really impressed with these results. I wish to get the same results and more once I convert to the ix turbo. I currently have 3" turbo-back, Walbro 255lph, XS Power front mount, Perrin Intake, Kelford 272 cams, a hallman manual boost controller set at 26psi, Evo 8 10.5 turbo and I am roughly at 370whp street tuned. Want to switch cars? lol

I see you made the switch to corn juice yourself. Steve said that you guys are getting all that you can out of that BBK. Any thoughts of going a bit bigger?
I haven't had any idle/drivability issues at all.

Id like to turn the boost up when ben gets a clutch in that thing - Its better to leave it at 26 so he can drive it some before forking out hundreds of dollars on a clutch.
30psi it will jump the torque up - the stock turbo isnt likely to get too much better on HP though.
Now if scott would only let me strap that blue X down and have at it
after over 2 yrs - my first post... wow.
