Ideal gap for spark plugs running 23psi?
When I was getting my car tuned, the tuner noted that the car tended to hiccup a little between 5,000rpms and 5,500rpms. He thought I should change the spark plugs (car only has 35k miles). So I changed the spark plugs with NGKs (copper kind) and gapped to 0.25. Put them on the car and the car felt good, but at idle, the car would sputter every 6 seconds. So I took them out and put the stock ones back in. No sputter at idle. What should I regap the plugs to?
Thanks,

I used to run BR8ES when I was just running the stock turbo @ 23psi. I would gap them high around .027 to .028. When I started running them, I tightended the gap because of the extra boost. I went down to around .022 to .024. The larger the gap the better for performance, however, it will cause them to start misfiring quicker. I always thought it was worth going a little bigger since all you have to do is tighten the gap a little if you started misfiring. Or you can buy 4 new plugs for under $10 :-)
