Should I get a boost controller?

I was looking at what i was boosting the other day and it was around 15-17 psi. I have heard 20-22psi is a good boost. My mods are 272 cams, arp head studs, sard bov, tomei exhaust manifold, tomei o2 housing, tomei down pipe, megan cat back and a turbo timer. It was recently tuned at infinate velocity in reno, at 365 hp or 292whp.

thanks alot in advance!

Yes get a manual boost controller then tune it. Are you on the stock turbo?

Um..292, pump gas won't touch 365 on a stock turbo without meth. MBC or EBC would be the next step, but you will need to retune, you'll be hitting diff. load cells. I know a IX runs 20.3 psi stock, not sure what an 8 does but I'd say with cams depending on fuel 20-22 psi should be about right.

I think he was saying that it's 365 crank hp and 292 wheel hp. 292 is exactly 80% of 365, which would take into account driveline losses. Anyway, good info on the stock 8/9 boost levels. I'm about to get tuned at Buschur and I've been running at a conservative 15lbs with my Buschur boost controller until the tune. I keep wanting to turn it up, but I havn't looked into what stock levels actually were. I think I remember spiking at about 20psi before installing the MBC, though.
