Plugs, coils, fuel pump, or injectors??

I trying to find out why my car was breaking up when I try to accelerate. I pulled the plugs and they where a little lean. My gap is at .024. The plugs are basically new. The car drives fine when cruising but when I go to pass a car on the highway it's like the spark is being blown out. It does it some times. The car does have 100k on it. And the coils do have that mileage on them. The stock turbo did blow on it. But I am not sure if before the turbo letting go would make my car blow out spark and have my plugs look lean. So would it be injectors or pump? What do you guys think? If my coils didn't work right wouldn't my plugs look rich?

Try closing the gap a bit more, and see what happens. I was down to a .018 before I got my COP setup.

What kind of plugs are you running as well?

Starting is not a prob. It's just when I am driving and when I try to go for a quick dash it breaks up a little bit. Look at the plugs and they look lean.

Changed my plugs and it still does it. I am wondering if it is my coils. They have over a 100k miles on them. Maybe that is whats going on the coils have a weak spark and the little bit of boost is blowing them out????? Could that be it??? Anyone have the same probs with old high mileage coils???

Go to a BPR7ES plugs? I thought with the amount of boost plus meth I should be running a step colder. Thats what BR, Jester tuning , and others told me to run. Well I am going to be having a new turbo (FP Black) come in. Should I still try a BPR7ES or stick with the BPR8ES?

How about the coil theory I posted? Is it likely?

Definitely stick with NGK BPR8ES Plugs.

Get this issue resolved before you even think about trying to tune the FP Black. It will only lead to more headaches.

As for the issue, I am uncertain and at this point, I would bring it to an Evo shop and have them solve the problem.

check your EGR valve hoses under your throttle body. more than likely one of the hoses under there popped off and that would be your culprit.

I would look into the coils and plugs. .024 gap seems to big. I run a .018 and dont go back to 7's. Def stick with 8's
