Yeah, thats what I thought too, and the Hotside flange is also like the EPM dumps too, they just have a hole for the wastegate, not an actual machined tapered opening.

Great idea....but it will leak.
As for the Buschur design it fits over the top of the flange that the doughnut would be on. It seals itself around this flange.
This design needs a way to seal.

There has to be some degree of movement allowance because of the shifting of the engine under load. If you have rigid motor mounts this won't be such a serious issue. I see a dilemma with most down pipes because the flanges are machined for either a slip fit over the stock outlet, or have a recess for the doughnut gasket.
You will have to machine out your DP flange to properly mate up with the O2 housing outlet. Nothing that a few minutes with a die grinder can't take care of.
A standard flat gasket will certainly help, buy you will have to tighten the hell out of the bolts. The weight of the DP will cause more pressure on one side of the gasket tha the other. Over time the side with less pressure will blow out. If this design was with 3 bolts, the flat gasket would work pretty well. Problem there would be that no one makes a 3 bolt down pipe.
I think a minor design change on the O2 housing would work wonders. Simply mimic the stock housing how it has a portion that sticks out to receive the doughnut gasket. But instead of needing a doughnut gasket simply hog out the DP to slip over the O2 just like the Buschur DP does.
Sorry to ramble. This is a great idea, but needs a little tweeking.

Let us know what benefits it has once you get a hold of one. I don't plan on keeping my EPM dump, I just wanted an o2 dump since '06 and my local shop was not to make one. When my motor exploded in '08, they started becoming available to buy. I'll be looking at this ATP when I'm done enjoying the EPM.

My experience with Megan pipes and the flex section is that over time the flex section will begin to leak. You can see the leaks easily if you start you car on a cold day and look under the car.
