Lost the keys to my car...=/

Well either I lost my keys at work today or someone is playing a prank on me..! When I went to lock up my shop, I couldn't find my keys, spent over an hour looking for them and nothing!!! And when I bought my car from the dealership it only came with one key..! So at this point I'm going to have to buy new keys and key fobs. I called capitol mitsubishi in san jose and the service advisor that I was talking to didn't know ****.

Whats the cost of a new key and key fob?

Only having one key =

Losing that key =

Honestly, I have seen blanks all over the internet but between the immobilizer and the fact that you dont have a way to match the cut, it sounds like your just going to have to fork up the 90 buck. Sorry for the bad luck, I HATE losing keys.

Good luck

You shouldn't to get it towed. We had a customer lock his keys in the car before and a he ended up getting a locksmith to get them out. Otherwise you can go to the dealer with a copy of your registration or title and they'll cut you a key.

Fob won't do the trick since it has to be programmed to the car.

well my keys aren't in my car...! I work at honda and when our customers lose their keys they have to get their cars towed in and key new keys and have our HDS machine program it..! I don't know if mitsubishi you just have to cut the key and the parts department can program it?

Ah, I assumed you locked yourself out. They should be able to cut & program your key without needing the car there.

I'm 99% sure they can cut you a new key with your vin number and proof of ownership.

I could be wrong here but can't you disable the imobilizer? That way you wouldn't have to program the new key? Thinking out loud here
