Evo 8 intercooler worth upgrading
Newbie question I have a stock evo 8 straight pipe and ported headers is it worth upgrading the intercooler or would it be a bling effect I got a great deal on a turbox intercooler

(Yes and No) You'll receive gains for sure since you'll be able to bring more volume of cooled air into your engine. But I would rather you save for a complete quality intercooler kit that will support your maximum goal such as 500-700 hp setup. I only say this from experience, upgrading bolts ons such as this is something you want to do once.

Totally up to you man, there a couple of reviews on this particular intercooler. But again I will say this from experience... sometimes it best to buy new than used especially when it comes to performance parts such as this.
What are your mods?

Would this be helpful? Yes but in my opinion there are other worthy mods you could purchase and see better gains. Be honest with yourself though because if you plan on exceeding 400whp you'd be upgrading parts again and the stock IC is sufficient for your power goals now. Also be wary of fitment. Do you plan on keeping the stock undertray? Will this work with the piping you have now? Not implying this is a bad unit but sometimes if its a good deal doesn't make it a good idea.

If you get to the point you need one, you can upgrade then.
My friend had a stock FMIC with a 35R turbo. It was too small, but my point is he still made good power and he didn't die.
Save your money until you HAVE to spend.

Two Questions:
A) What is an inter-coolers Function?
B) Once you've answered A, How big can you shoe horn in, safely?
Inter-coolers, I love this topic. I have seen same sized Bar Plate Inter-coolers from multiple prices, multiple manufacturers, including knockoff's, of Bar/Plate Variety, perform the same. Inter-coolers serve one purpose.
